Backwards Compat. Question

Wasn't quite sure where to post this, so I figured here was as good a place as any. I understand that the BC will work with disc and digital 360 games that you already own, and with learning this I have figured to sell my XB360. Would clearing the hard drive of
my XB360 so I can sell it, effect my digital games at all to be later downloaded by my XBOne? I wouldn't think so, because the games are still linked to my account, which would still make them mine. I just figured I'd ask before doing something that could
be regrettable.

its already a month and 2 days ago when the first couple of games with backward compat came out.. when are the halo reach and others coming to backward compat?

Hi, good question.

While I can't confirm this, I'll explain how I think it works.

Like you say, digital games are linked to your account. Servers won't be able to (or need to) access your Xbox 360 while it's turned on. So therefore, you won't need the game(s) installed on the Xbox hard drive itself.

As for the discs, they will still be needed to play them on the Xbox One.

So as far as I'm concerned, you can wipe your Xbox 360 Hard Drive before selling it!

 

Before you wipe your drive make sure to upload your savegamedata to the Xbox360 cloud so you can recover it back on the Xbox One once BC becomes available.

If you don't upload gamesaves to the cloud you will NOT BE ABLE to continue where you left off (in case of singleplayer gamemode/storymode)

 

you know xbox 360 runs it's own os and an xbox emu so your backward compat just got you all the old xbox language let see call you open that xbox one up and really show 3d sterescopic on suhd upscaling the resolution or is just for vr visor and can't run
