    Backward Compatible Games' Version Numbers

Hi. I hope this isn't a daft question but can anyone please explain the version numbers given to backward compatible games? I understand version numbering generally (e.g. [Major build number].[Minor build number].[Revision].[Package]) but I want to know
what the specific numbers given to Xbox Backward Compatible games mean.

For example, Dragon Age: Origins is (currently) 18.515.1239.19. I'm pretty sure that doesn't mean the 18th major build so what does '18' mean (e.g., as a purely fantastical explanation, it could mean major build 1 for console generation 8 rather
than simply being an incremental version number). Likewise with the other numbers; I realise it's feasible that an Xbox 360 game goes through many iterations in preparing and testing it for the Xbox One but the numbers still seem really big.

    Thanks

    :)

    Xbox One backwards compatibility

As long as it's a backwards compatible game, you can play with them. It's the same version of the game. There's not a special version or anything to have it be backwards compatible.

    Games not on download list

Are you looking for the 360 version or the One version?

If it's the 360 version of the game, that game is not backwards compatible so it is not playable on the One. (You can see a list of backwards compatible games here.

transfer digital download xbox 360 game to xbox one?

    Hi,

As some additional information. to the answer already specified.

The backward compatible game while it is the same game the download is basically different version of the game, being the backward compatible version of the game. This is also the reason why inserting a backward compatible game via disc will result in the
backward compatible version being downloaded (disk is still required to start the game)

So in order for you to download that backward compatible version you will have to login to the Xbox Live Account that is used on the 360, which allows you to download backward compatible games that you own.

    Game question

    Hi there,

    Depends on which GTA game.

If it was GTA V, there is a 360 version and an Xbox One version. The 360 version is not backward compatible to be playable on an Xbox One. Unless the publisher was offering a deal at the time - purchase one version and receive the other, then no.

If it was GTA IV, that one is on the list of backward compatible games that are playable on an Xbox One.

The most current list of backward compatible games can be found
    here

Prototype xbox 360 disc not BC with Xbox One X

The $29 one you saw is the Xbox One version of the game which is backwards compatible with the Series S/X. The 360 version is not backwards compatible.
