Backward Compatibility

Just bought the xbox one. Spoke to three different sellers( Best Buy, Gamestop, and another) asked about the ability to use my 360 games all of them did not know how to do it but they said not to worry. I got the console only to find out that only1
game by chance worked. I also called support to see a fix . Nothing. basically out of luck. If I had known this I wouldn't of upgraded. I now have 6 games that are useless. My only hope is to wait to see if they come out in the next year or so. Very bad information
from the vendors and support. You wonder why people go to the PS4. No resolution from Microsoft corporate other than sorry which has cost me almost $500 and no usable console unless I spend a lot of money to get only Xbox one games.

Because of backward compatibility you will be able to join parties, join games but only the xbox 360 game you have started up.

Hi, Backward Compatibility does work on the Xbox One, but only the ones on the backward compatible list.

www.xbox.com/.../backward-compatibility The list will be getting updated with more games every month. So keep an eye on that list, eventually your games may become compatible.

 

Why have i not recirved any of my gears of wars codes. I have bought and play the updated gears of war one!!

 

I am extremely disappointed about this gimmick into getting you to upgrade to an Xbox one. I come to find out that some of the games that you mayou have for xbox 360 are just being repackaged for Xbox one and more than likely not making it to the list of
compatible games for 360 (Brothers, Darksiders 2, etc.). I feel like this gimmick was an effort to try to beat PlayStation on the Christmas console war. My suggestion to all that ask me is to hold off and see how this thing plays out as there are many 360
games that you can play until the truth comes out that you will have to re-buy Xbox 360 games that you love repackaged for Xbox One.

 

I have to agree with some of this, has anyone really looked at the list they have. Some of those games 7ve never heard of and most look like kids games. I want BO1 BO2 AND OTHER CALL OF DUTY GAMES. And I dont under stand why I have to purchase a digital
copy when I already own the disk to the 360. Sometimes I wish that I just have stuck with my ps3 and never went to Xbox. You guys cost to much and offer nother to your customers other then *** server's and crappy *** support...

 

So if you really have owned a game out of the game list with compatibel games you do not have to own the didital copy of this game again. If the game is ready and on the list, jut pull in your game disk inside your "One" and let the XBOX do ist work: installing
the game. After installing, just start it and your game save in the Cloud will be synchronized with your "One". I recommend to ply the game 1 or 2 times on your 360 again and save it at your Cloud ( just choose "Cloud" as the place for saving your Status.

I have all my disk games installed now if they are compatibel and they work fine.

Sorry to hear that you are having trouble with Backwards Compatibility. There are several points I will quickly address, or re-address since this thread is 3 weeks old.

First, if you own a physical copy of a game that is on the backwards compatible list posted above by StuartATrueRed, then you do not have to own the digital copy too. Just insert your disc into the Xbox One.

Second, there will continue to be more and more titles added over time. If you have a preference for games, please visit

xbox.uservoice.com/.../298503-backwards-compatibility to vote on your favorites or add a post you'd like to see included in BC.

Third, for future reference if a post already has a verified answer and is several weeks old, make sure to create your own post by going to the Forum you wish to post in, look in the top right corner, and select Add a New Post.
