Backward Compatibility problem

Hi

I bought mass effect today to try out on my xbox one. As soon as i put the disc in, it was making a noise as if it did not regonise the disc. A message popped up saying make sure you have inserted the correct disc. After a couple of goes, i finally managed
to install the game and turn off my xbox one.

Later, as soon as i powered up my xbox, it started making the same noise, and the same message came up. After about four tries, i finally got the game to run. Has anyone else had this problem. It has nothing to do with my drive because my xbox games and
dvds work fine.

My Account won't stay connected to xbox live on backwards compatibility.

I'm having a problem with backwards compatibility. My xbox live account disconnects from xbox live when I attempt to log in on the 360 menu on backwards compatibility for Xbox one.

Why do I have a problem with backwards compatibility

 

Not a problem on the lady's Xbox One.

Have you tried putting any other 360 discs in, even an incompatible one? Try it and see if the drive has the same issues. Could be that the drive is on its way out and 360 discs are just the first thing it is having trouble with.

 

That is strange...I installed Mass Effect and Perfect Dark Zero and didn't get the noise thing or any msgs but if everthing else works perfect i wouldn't worry. Besides them taking awhile to install it was pretty flawless on my side.

 

Yeah I have no problems with other discs, but as soon as I put my Xbox on with the mass effect disc in there, it makes a lot of noise for about 30 secs.

But that's not my only problem. Sometimes it will recognise my 360 profile, but most of the time it will not, even though I am signed into my old 360 profile.

I am just thinking, Am I doing something wrong here. I was in invited to the preview programme and I think I done everything right.

God I hope it is not my drive dying but like I said, its fine on everything else.

So, I am now staring at the mass effect main screen and I can't go any further because it says I don't have a profile to save game. Tries to get the profile but says it can't. It managed to get the profile once

 

Then can I make the recommendation that you go into the preview app and start reporting these problems.

After all that is what the preview is for, to make sure these issues don't happen when the update hits for the general public at large.

 

Unlike previous Xbox generation optical drives, the X1s optical drive loads the disc into the system via the edges of the disc. (disc's no longer just lay on a tray)

Be sure to check the entire outter edge of the disc for imperfections/chips as they may help to contribute to issues such as this.

Also the disc info is read within the space close to center of the disc. Make sure it is clean and undamaged. (Cracks, smudges etc) so the optical drive can read the codex properly.

 

Even though the disc seemed clean. I gave it a good clean. I put the disc in and it seems OK.

Even gave me the option to save on cloud for the first time. I am hoping I have no more problems.
