Backward Compatibility - download profile

I inserted my Xbox 360 disk of Red Dead Redemption into my Xbox ONE and it began the process of downloading the 7.5GB update to run the game on Xbox ONE.

- Started game,

- Game asks to download profile (!?) , I was already signed in.

- Select download, "checking network status" wait 10 seconds then FAILED, "Can't Connect to Xbox Live"

- Asks to "Test Connection" , I was already connected to download the game (!)

- I test connection and it is fine. No problems with connection at all.

- Cannot play the game.

- Go back to my Xbox 360 and enable cloud save. Upload saves to cloud.

- Still the same problem. 360 Dashboard cannot connect / find profile while at the same time Xbox ONE dashboard is connected. with the correct profile

Please help. Still waiting to play the game.

Hi, it may be some sort of network issue but can you try this please.

On your xbox one sign out of all accounts, launch Red Dead, when the game loads press the menu and view buttons at the same time, the guide will open up, you will see an option to download profile, select that and see how it goes.

 

It may also be worth clearing the alternate MAC address, that's in settings. all settings, network, advanced settings. alternate MAC address, select clear and then select restart and give things a try.

Few things might be going on here.

So usually when the 360 emulator asks you to download your profile that means that something has changed since you last used it. Maybe you updated your password or gamertag? I'm not sure if you have a physical 360 based on what was in your post or if you
just did it through the emulator menu. If your physical 360 will still sign you in then this is most likely not the case

Sometimes our lovely XB1 can just be glitchy. I would suggest three steps that usually fix any and all problems I'm having. First, clear the system cache, this can really mess with the network. Second try a hard reset (unplugging from the wall for 30 seconds
then restart the system). Third reset your router.
