Backward compatability

Hi all,

Does anyone know a definitive answer to this, I have an Xbox 1 which has just replaced my 360, I have a few games left from the 360, I have heard that the backward compatibility is coming and tried to contact Microsoft about it who then pointed me to a website
that suggested that I needed to be invited to the beta trial or wait until an update is released. So when is this all supposed to be happening..... I have been told so many different things about it Im not sure who to believe.

So backwards compatability is a big issue when from what we know the PS4 "backwards compatability" is just the ability to buy the games in a digital format that will work on the new console, hmm.

 

The update for backward compatibility has already happened.

There are however only current 104 titles available
news.xbox.com/.../introducing-your-first-104-xbox-one-backward-compatibility-games so it is possible your games wo't yet be playable.

Check out the list though. You may be pleasantly surprised.

 

Click on settings then go down to system then console info & updates and update your Xbox

No one knows but Activision are being a bit funny about making the COD games backwards compatible.

It's just a case of waiting i'm afraid.

 

I have just rebought MW3 and was hoping that I could play it on my X one but I may have to hog my daughters 360!! instead if activision dont play ball.

 

i just got a xbox one console and was trying out the backward compat feature using my lego star war tcs disc. however i found no option to INSTALL FROM DISC. the only option is internet downlod which is so SLOW. why is this so ? i have game disc in drive
that has all the game data so why cant i install from there, it is so much faster than download from internet.

 

The game disc just proves you own the game. The reason for the download is how the backward compatibility works.

It works by wrapping a 360 game in an emulator that the Xbox One sees an an Xbox One title, which is why commands like "Xbox, take a screenshot" still work.

Emulation isn't perfect, even for systems going back decades. Microsoft have to tweak their Xbox 360 emulator for each game to ensure that it works as best as it can.

What happends for XBox 360 games such as Fallout 3 that has extra DLC content ?

Does the emulator wrapping only support the main game or will it be able to support DLC content as well.

If so how would it do so ? I have the Ultimate Edition game disc.

 

As far as I am aware the DLC discs don't work at the moment, only digitally purchased DLC.

 

So heres a strange one for you, I have been playing Advanced warfare and for all this week I have been unable to get into any online matches, my son has the same game and he can join matches fine. I contacted support and everything is fine with my internet
and there is no reason why I shouldnt be able to join online matches. I also play black ops and have no problem with that. I have stuck my profile on my sons console and I can then join matches fine. I just can work out whats going on. Anyone got any ideas..

 

Only thing I can suggest is try resetting your Xbox
