    Backup issue after latest OS update 10.0.17763.3065 Xbox One X


    I just did an offline system update for my Xbox One X with the latest OS version 10.0.17763.3065 Everything looked good, but when I attempted to do a backup, I noticed that the option to backup the settings to an external harddrive was not there anymore
    - only the network transfer option is shown. Was the external backup option really removed or is this some kind of error?

    Nope.

    I've updated the console to OS version: 10.0.17763.3065 (rs5_release_xbox_dev_1811.181121-1200) but no luck either.

    Hello, I'm trying to update my xbox X with the latest OS released but after the download the update fails with the following error:

    I've tried a xbox reset but it doesn't work..

    well no, the console is not enrolled in the Xbox Insider program. Thanks also for the link - if it would be that straight forward ... The problem is that when I go to Settings>System>Backup & transfer there is only one option displayed - Network transfer.
    There is no other option to backup the settings. An external harddrive is connected (used this successfully before the update to backup the settings).

    Has anyone experience the same effect after updating the OS? Any ideas welcome how to resolve this issue.

    Hello Hardware,

    We understand that you're experiencing an issue involving the (Back up Settings)
    option is not available after updating your console.

    Our recommendation here, look into or check to ensure that the external hard drive is being detected
    on your Xbox One console.

    After this is done, attempt to perform all variants of restarting the console and as a last resort you may want to perform
    a soft factory reset on the console while keeping games and apps:

    Reset and keep my games & apps. You should use this option as your primary choice when troubleshooting. It will reset the OS and delete all potentially corrupted data without deleting your games or
    apps. This will save you from downloading or reinstalling the large game files.

    Note: This will remove profiles, so be sure to keep all information for signing into any/all accounts.

    Try the suggested and feel free to let us know the results.

    just a short status update - everything up and running again the way it should. However, not sure which of the above options did the trick ... after downloading a couple of gigabytes of game updates, I checked the backup options agin, logged in and out an
    in (Microsoft account) ... and suddenly there were the complete backup options available again ...

    Many thanks to everybody who tried to help me solve the issue!
