Background music /Podcasts

Hello.

I am attempting to use the new Casts app on xbox and it works perfectly fine, however.. I want to turn be game volume down and hear just the background music.

Is this possible?

Windows Phone 8. How do you close X-Box Music

So I am listening to podcast using X-Box Music. How do I close the app. Using the back button does not close the application like other applications and it is still running in the background. I just want to close it.

Hey there Captain RIDGEO,

You can do this, but you'll need to do it in each individual game you play. In most games, for example Minecraft. You have the option to turn down the Music and Sound Effects. You'll need to turn those down or off in order to hear Podcasts from the Cast
App.

Unfortunately they took some real steps back with some of the features when they designed this console, having that in-built background music player was one of those steps back. There are some ways around it, as you've already mentioned, but it's not as
useful as the Xbox 360 one was.

I've heard the Spotify app is quite good for background music, but I've never used it myself. I end up just using my phone and listening to podcasts that way. The podcast app on Xbox One has always been very hit or miss for me, with lots of crashing.

Just to double check, have you tried the steps outlined in the Windows Phone guide on

syncing music, ringtones, and podcasts using your computer?

You might also want to check that you have enabled Xbox Music cloud collection in your phone settings.

I will sometimes play with the music off and have spotify playing. Or i would use a podcast.
