Background Downloads not working

Hey guys and gals, I'm having issues downloading BF4's multiplayer update 14. Every time i try to download it with the machine off, the download will occur for a little while, then the machine will turn off. its a 1.27 GB download and i have more than
enough room on my HDD. the download has been going on for about a week and is only at 13%. I re-installed the game and all the dlc and the required 2GB installation to try and help as it was stuck at 10% last week.

Should I delete and re-install everything again and hope for the best?

Background downloads not working

The xbox 360 background downloads feature isn't working for me.

I know that it used to work for me but since the latest update it doesn't work.

I'll start downloading something , turn off the xbox and it shuts off completely after 3 seconds.

It used to flash and keep downloading until the download was finished but now it just turns itself off and doesn't download anything.

Its a real pain.

I have to keep my 360 fully turned on now when downloading anything wasting electricity.

My xbox 360 is connected to the internet via wi fi now whereas it was wired in the past but it still should work.

Can anyone help me get the background downloads working the way they're supposed to over wifi.

Background Downloads Not Working

My Xbox one background download feature only works less than half the time. It worked the first day I started the download fir mcc but every time I shut it down now it doesn't work and it's set to instant on and everything but it still isn't downloading
when it's off.

I'd recommend just keeping your console turned on. BG downloads usually download at a slower rate than normal as to not cause network congestion.

Hey there Quinn! That's definitely odd that it kept turning off for you. I can certainly understand if you'd rather not bother troubleshooting it; but if you'd like to troubleshoot, can you tell us what you were trying to download that wouldn't keep
the console downloading? Was it one specific thing or more than one thing?

Like I said, if you'd like to troubleshoot just hit us back and we'll work with you from there. If not, Game On and have a good one! ^_^

I've only been gaming on my pc recently but anyway that's what I was doing originally and it didn't work.

I had download while console is off set enabled and it just wouldn't continue downloading when my console was turned off.

It would just turn itself off after about 3 seconds.

I gave up on it anyway because I've nothing else to download on it anyway.

That's not the case!

Back ground downloading put your 360 into semi standby mode and downloads the stuff on you list.

The power lige on the front will flash intermeidetly (spelling) showing it is downloading. Once it has done downloading it will turn itself off.

You turn BG downloading in the console settings.

WHy it is not working for the OP i do not know.

I found that once I had turned background downloads on, I had to turn machine off, then on again. After that, when I had something to download, it worked fine when I shut the machine down.

I think you have to leave your console on.

I thought background downloads was for when you were playing a game that didnt require the internet so the downloads carry on whilst your'e playing a SP game.
