Background Downloads feature has not been working

I would start downloading the game, then try to have the background download feature set on. Then I'd turn off the console and the console would completely turn off to where it stops the game's download. My XBox 360 model is the XBox 360 E. Would the XBox
One affect the background downloads on 360? Would the 360 getting faulty have anything to do with it? Is there a solution to the problem?

Background Downloads Broken?

Recently, for about 2 months or so, background downloads has not been working for me. When I turn my xbox off there is no blinking green light or humming of my xbox and my downloads do not download. I've double and triple checked, and my background downloads
option is enabled. Does anyone else have this problem?

The xbox 360 background downloads feature isn't working for me.

I know that it used to work for me but since the latest update it doesn't work.

I'll start downloading something , turn off the xbox and it shuts off completely after 3 seconds.

It used to flash and keep downloading until the download was finished but now it just turns itself off and doesn't download anything.

Its a real pain.

I have to keep my 360 fully turned on now when downloading anything wasting electricity.

My xbox 360 is connected to the internet via wi fi now whereas it was wired in the past but it still should work.

Can anyone help me get the background downloads working the way they're supposed to over wifi.

 

Sorry to hear it. Are you sure that the background download feature is turned on? If it is and you turn off the console the green light should continue flashing until it is downloaded completely.

 

Yes, I had the background download feature switched to on. When I have it switched on, it only has that green flashing light on for just three seconds then it completely turns off to where it stops the download. When the background download feature is off,
after turning it off it just turns off completely.

 

That is odd. How long have you had the console? How big is the storage device and how much space is left?

 

I have had the console for almost about two years. This year is it's second year. And the storage device is the hard drive which is 250GB. And there is plenty of room for any game to be downloaded.
