Background downloads enabled yet download queue is not moving xbox360 turned off

I have background downloads enabled on my 360 and I powered it off last night. This morning I went to put items in my download queue on my pc at work from xbox.com and nothing is downloading to my 360. Is anyone having similar issues? I thought you can put
games and stuff in your queue on the pc and if background downloads are enabled on the 360, everything will start downloading. Is this not true?

Not at all. You probably have background downloads turned on. Background downloads means that your console will finish syncing or any downloads you have in the queu will finish completely before the console finishes turning off.

I have background downloads enabled and if i press the off button twice it turns the console fully off. However if i press it once it does the background downloads.

Also make sure you have an item in the download queue (downloading).

 

No. Background downloads will allow your console to keep downloading something after you turn it off. But it won't start downloading anything else until you turn it back on.

The thing is, nothing is my queue downloads to the 360 even while the system is turned on. It just sits there and my download queue doesn't empty at all. I thought I could start downloads on the web while the 360 was powered off as long as background downloads
were enabled and auto update games was on, it would push the download queue to it while off. Guess that is a xboxone feature. So basically I have to keep my 360 powered on for me to download what's in my queue, then when I power it off, it will keep on downloading

Still doesn't help me though since nothing is downloading while the 360 is on. What else can I try? Thanks!

 

Oh so wait, I have to start the download from the 360 console itself? I can only queue up downloads on the web for the xb1? My download queue will download games/apps I initiated from the 360 console itself? I thought if my xbox 360 was on, I could queue
up downloads on xbox.com to download to it. Is this how it works?

 

You can definitely queue up downloads for the 360 on the website and they should start up as long as your console is on. So are they not showing at all on the console when you start them from the website?

 

Everything is working now. I disabled background downloads and disabled cloud storage. Then deleted my profile. Then I went back in, re-enabled background dl's and cloud storage and then downloaded my profile. It's working like it should. As long as the
console is on. Like you guys said, the whole downloading of games/app while off is an xboxone feature. I didn't know that.

Glad it's working I do wish that was a feature the 360 had as well.
