    I don't know if my 360 has recently been updated by my kids but for some reason games will no longer download when the Xbox 360 is turned off. I have checked settings and they are all correct. Over 100Gb of space so that's not an issue. The strange thing
    is that if I leave my Xbox 360 on download the download will restart back at 0%. I have turned the Xbox 360 off by the power for 30mins. I have also tried to clear the cache. Even so the Xbox 360 turns off completely when turned off from the controller. Is
    there anything else I can try. Im currently trying to download the last 3 Games for Gold purchases which are still in my queue.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Background downloads not working

    The xbox 360 background downloads feature isn't working for me.

    I know that it used to work for me but since the latest update it doesn't work.

    I'll start downloading something , turn off the xbox and it shuts off completely after 3 seconds.

    It used to flash and keep downloading until the download was finished but now it just turns itself off and doesn't download anything.

    Its a real pain.

    I have to keep my 360 fully turned on now when downloading anything wasting electricity.

    My xbox 360 is connected to the internet via wi fi now whereas it was wired in the past but it still should work.

    Can anyone help me get the background downloads working the way they're supposed to over wifi.

    Removing USB with has my gamertag on it - during a background download after shutdown....

    Hey there Gand! If the console is still technically on and working, like a background download, it would recommend not removing the USB device. Wait until the console has completely shut down or is no longer downloading anything and then you can remove it
    safely. I hope this helps, thanks!

    Background downloading on Xbox 360 no longer working.

    Xbox 369 cannot download anything while turned off nor will it wake up to do so

    That's an xbox one and ps4 feature only as they have a 2Nd CPU to take care of the downkosds

    Background downloading means you can browse and play off line games while downloading however it does slow your download speed

    It's not recommended that you play while you downlosd

    As it does take cycles off of the download

    Hence why they put a cpu just for that now

    If you want fast download you must keep the download in the foreground not background download

    It seems to be working now. Just takes for ever to download anything even though my internet is full strength. I didn't need to do anything, it just started working.

    I'm having the exact same issue. It only recently started when trying to download Dishonored. I tried Dark Souls as well to make sure it wasn't just one game. It happened with both.
