Background Apps in Windows 11

Hello!

I am trying to play Sea of Thieves on a Windows 11 Laptop but whenever I alt tab it disconnects me with a server error message. I know this is because background apps are disabled but I can't find the setting for it? Was it removed?

Hey,

I managed to solve the problem on Windows 11.

2 registry keys that cause me problems (To go in the registry : Win + R -> regedit -> OK)

First key : LetAppsRunInBackground in [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\AppPrivacy]

If you have this key, delete it.

Second key : GlobalUserDisabled in [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\BackgroundAccessApplications]

The value must be zero.

Once done, restart the PC and then you can go back to settings -> applications and features -> search for "Sea of Theives" -> advanced options and set "background application permissions" to "always"

2. Inside the Background apps tab, start by enabling the toggle associated with Let apps run in the background.

3. Once the usage of background apps is enabled, scroll down through the list of applications, and locate the entry associated with Sea of Thieves.

4. When you see it, ensure that the toggle associated with it is enabled (On).

5. Launch Sea of Thieves once again and see if the problem is now resolved.

that is for windows 10, that does not work for windows 11, you have to go through each app individually on windows 11 in the apps section, which he has done and still not working.
