Back compat a joke?

The only game I want added is South Park stick of truth because I never had the chance to play it on the 360

 

The point is Blue if that "might" time comes then the facility is there for you, and that can only be a good thing, I don't care if it's a few years before I get the itch to revisit a classic title, point is I will be able to if and when I decide to.

The quality of BC on the 360 wasn't very good, and pretty much locked you out of the social side like parties which is probably why it wasn't a success, add that to the difference between SD games on the original and the HD contrast and there wasn't that
much of an incentive to play the older gams. There isn't so much of a disparity between 360 and One games and you have a much stronger social and MP element to link the two systems.

That's just it... I saw the BC on the 360 as little more than a flash in the pan. I hold nothing against those who want it, it's not a bad thing that it's coming... but, historically
speaking, if it doesn't get much use and only a limited number of people use it... would all that time and R&D to get it up and going have been better spent elsewhere? Not wanting to spur and argument and I'm sure any discussion would be little more than speculation...
but I find it a valid question.

I'd rather have a re-master, personally.

 

Didn't Microsoft show some stats as to how many actually used BC on the 360? I think it was a really small number. As to the OP, this is just the initial stages....also, a wide variety of games allows for broad testing and QC.

 

Nobody has even mentioned the other advantages to playing 360 titles on the Xbox One. For instance, you can go to the Home without exiting your game (Or so I've heard) and you can also record gameplay clips, I believe.

 

yeah record and stream to twitch but have to agree the games i want to play look dated now would rather pay for a remaster but hopefully i will be able to get my street fighter and marvel vs capcom fix when they start adding games

 

Not this again. Who cares how old the game is or looks, if its a great game.....then it's a great game.

I have constantly gone backward and forwards between 360 and X1 over the last few years, I never once thought "OMG, I can't pay this game because it looks dated". I played through all 3 Mass Effects back to back earlier this year and loved every minute.
The thought that I can finally play 360 games without the need for the 360 is great, I can soon pack it away and not have to mess around with multiple consoles when I want to play a 360 game.

 

I have to say, before BC was announced I had fully come to terms with leaving the 360 behind and saw no need for BC so I think it's just a bonus we get, I don't even care what games get added, really.

All I can think of is Mass Effect 3's multiplayer mode, it would be awesome for that to continue on into this generation, but at the same time, I'm kinda done with it, haha.

 

I don't think they've even scratched the surface of what will be added to BC. As others have pointed out BC is in beta so we are only getting a "work in progress". There will be more over time and that's better than nothing.

 

I think ms will really go to town with this, and add every possible 360 game they can. A lot of people seem to be dismissing the bc on the X1, But it's already showing they're putting a lot of effort in, unlike they did with the bc on the 360.

This is obviously just the test(preview) period, so saying it sucks before its actually released to the general public? That's very premature.

I honestly hope the X1 stays in second place to the PS4 sales wise, because the extra effort ms put in month after month while trying to catch up, definitely shows.

 

The fact that BC is in trial/beta and not full scale released, we should be happy it's even happening. It's had an up date recently, no new games but a request to re-install games which I haven't tried yet, Ms certainly are working hard on this.

And, I think if graphics meant so much to me I'd be looking for another hobby,,, It's about convenience.

Just looking through and I see this. And I think the obvious: "Graphics do not make the game." This is totally true. I have played FF7 recently and it was still fun. So totally not a case of graphics. Did I want BC, not really. Will I use BC. Yes,
for some games. Would I like to see the Mass Effect Trilogy polished up for a complete collection with all dlc, yes.

That said about graphics it is true that graphics are part of the equation. No way would I play a game on the 360 that I could play with better graphics on the One. Just how it is. One of my sons really thought he was fine with the 360. Then I finally
pick him up his own One console as a surprise gift for passing all his AP tests and qualifying for early graduation next year as a sophomore. He plays it, he loves Call of Duty, a little on AW and he said this: "Wow this game looks so much better on the One.
Seems to play a little better as well." Now he is totally uninterested in BC and is looking forward to new stuff. The immersion from better graphics can make a big difference.

And I really wonder where people come up with saying that these new consoles are not a very big leap. They are a very nice leap. I remember playing Titanfall early on both 360 and One. That demonstrated right there that graphics were going to improve
a lot. But the key will be all the new things. AI and things like that.

So, BC yes I will use it. But if I can get the games on the One with better graphics, improvements to controls, fixes of old issues, AI improvements, and just things like that I will go that route. Many games on the 360/PS3 where just asking for more in
terms of RAM/CPU/GPU.

 

My favorite console for gaming at the moment is the 3DS XL, purely for the quality of the games on it. My Wii U play Wii and NGC games, it's a real bonus I think. MS are saying to the haters, we have talent and this console is no weakling. The concept of
saying what they have done so far as a joke is actually a bigger joke.
