B button doesn't function properly with headset plugged in

I bought my xbox one in November and it's now May, and I've noticed my b button doesn't work properly when I have my headset plugged in and the other half of the time the headset doesn't work. I know it's not the headset as this is my second headset.
Like the b button either is always working but isn't pushed down or it simply just doesn't function.

Xbox one doesn't function properly!

I bought an Xbox One S about a month ago. I have a software issue in which whenever I try to open an application or game, it tells me that it took too long to start. I have entered the error code but that didn't help. It told me that I might have to restart
my Xbox to get it to work which didn't. I have even factory reset it multiple times but all to no avail. I even have to attempt to open the settings app several times before it actually does and I manage to factory reset it. Even when the store app opens,
and I try to download a game I have purchase, it doesn't work because the "My Games And Apps" app doesn't open. At this point, my Xbox One S which I've spent months saving up for, is useless. I hope I get help because I was so hyped about this console, even
unboxing my first console in 8 years felt like a dream. I feel very disappointed, and I hope I don't end up throwing it away and wasting the money I spent. NOTE: I also get minor bugs from time to time which I think are related.

Headset won't function properly

Hello,

I have a stock Xbox One headset. Yesterday, I have noticed that my headset won't output my voice at all anymore. I can hear from it when I turn the volume up (with the corresponding beeps) and when chat is speaking but I cannot talk through it anymore. This
is the headset with the two prongs and USB connector that came with my Assassin's Creed Unity console bundle.

I have tested the same headset with two different controllers I own. One has the 3.5 mm headset jack, one doesn't. On both controllers, I can hear from it but cannot talk through it anymore.

It has worked fine up until July 4th, 2017 within a couple hours.

My privacy settings are set to Allow for voice communication.

The batteries on the controllers are fully charged.

I have tried disconnecting and reconnecting the headset on both controllers. Nothing.

I've hard reset the console.

The indictor in the upper right corner that displays the time and battery usage of my controller, it shows that a headset is connected.

What is wrong with my headset? Does it need replacing? Thank you.

the network and nat settings are all open and fine its more of this style of headset its just the basic usb plug in kind it doesn't function the way it should when I hit the mute button in party chat it doesn't mute me I have to hit one of the mute buttons
on the controller while in party chat for it to mute me so im thinking with the reset update it caused something to go wrong for that time of headset but luckily I have the 3.5mm port for a headset that I just need to try it out

Try some of these solutions listed below:

Stereo Headset isn’t working

If your Xbox One Stereo Headset isn’t functioning correctly, check the following:

Have you updated your controller’s software to support the Stereo Headset Adapter?
Make sure your controller has fresh batteries. When the batteries get weak, some controller functions, such as audio and rumble, are turned off to conserve the remaining power.
Make sure your Headset Adapter is firmly plugged into your controller and that your Stereo Headset’s 3.5-mm cable is securely plugged into the Headset Adapter. You will know it’s plugged in properly if you press the mute button and the LED lights up.
Try your Xbox One Stereo Headset with another device, such as a laptop, to see if the headset is working. If not, the headset will need to be replaced. To order a replacement, go to the Xbox
Online Service Center .
Try your Stereo Headset and Stereo Headset Adapter on another controller, if you can. If the headset works on the second controller, try updating
the first controller again. If that fails, the controller will need to be replaced. To order a replacement, go to the Xbox Online Service Center .

Hello Irmeson,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I believe the function that you are bringing up is already on the Xbox One.

With your headset plugged in, Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
Scroll all the way to the right until you are on Settings
Select Audio
Headset Chat mixer

The chat mixer will allow you to adjust How loud chat is in correlation to in game audio.

what kind of headset is it? some headsets that you buy sometimes have a faulty spark makes your controller not function. Also some headsets that you buy that are not from Xbox, Like if you buy a Sennheiser headset like I did, it doesn't want to work properly.
makes sure you look at the description before buying a new headset.
