Azure And Titanfall

Lol. Are people still actually buying into the Microsoft Cloud hyperbole???

They were using marketing guff on you. Surely you've come to accept it by now?

 

Im the same with books Vote, have good intentions but never get round to revisiting, films yes but books and games not so much.

 

If there's one thing thats irked me more than any other over the last few years of gaming, its crappy servers..If AZURE makes this a thing of the past, then i'm a happy little piggy!

 

I have no idea how it all works but I've said all along I loved the way Cloud/Drivatar worked with Forza 5, it'll be interesting if they could use this feature in say a FPS ... ...

Early days yet but I think it has alot of potential.

 

I think anyone who actually played the Titanfall beta can see the proof of the pudding, so to speak. If that success carries to the full game launch, and no reason why it shouldnt as the Beta was open to all One owners then happy days indeed. A massive
title that has no hosting issues, finds games immediately (pretty much) and has no lag etc is a huge step forward after the events of recent months.

 

The actual matchmaking and server stability was very solid from the start.... the only issues we encountered were with the party system and team balancing... problems with the console and game code, not the servers.

It's a good start, but let's not hump too much praise on something that should of been happening with online games from the beginning.... it should be more like the praise you give a puppy when it finally learns to poop outside!

 

Let go of the past and embrace the future that's what i say.

In a few years time everything will be on the cloud.

For me it feels like the start of something that could be a game changer

but its still early days just have to see if the cloud is bigger than the hype

i hope it is

 

I'm not about to embrace an all-digital, cloud-based future if it means relinquishing all of my ownership rights. That's not progress.

Same goes for Sony. Gakai backwards compatibility is cool but please don't make it so that in the future all our games become tethered to this unreliable service.

I know this is an old article,but iv spent many years gaming on real dedicated servers on PC,and when you are grafting each week to pay out of your own pocket for these you know the difference between whats a real dedicated server and what isnt,and trust
me the azure cloud buisness aint aload of rubbish,iv never seen gameplay of such quaility as on the 6 days of tfall beta ever on a console,

and whats soooooo awesome for us here in the UK is that TFALL will have a london server,im am gobsmacked with excitement about this,,and to add to that BT are currently getting their fiber at speeds of 1.4 terrabytes,under testing,thats 44 dvd files in a
second.In the next year in the UK we are gonna see thebest internet in the west,hands down.Underground fiber is avaliable right now.

 

Personally i think this whole cloud/Azure thing has fantastic potential, I'm not sure i'd call it a success based purely from the Titanfall beta but it clearly looks like its going in the right direction. Though i echo what people have said about the future
of games when online items get turned off and what not.
