I recently bought the Xbox series S in hopes that my gaming experience would be improved. However all I'm trying to do is install my games and it's barely getting above 5mbps. my wifi is perfectly fine and is running the entire house fine but my xbox. furthermore, my old Xbox One which I got on the first week of the Xbox One ever being released and is also quite badly damaged still download games faster than this brand-new Xbox and I want to know why this much more expensive and sophisticated Xbox is so much worse. I've changed my DNS I've checked my NAT type I've done everything and yet this console is still slow. Does anyone have any idea how I could possibly make this Xbox run faster as this is ridiculous?

Hi, I hope you're doing great out there despite the issue that you're experiencing. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regards to your concern.

Kindly perform an extended powercycle and reset your network hardware by following the steps below:

1. Unplug the power cable from the back of the router, modem, or gateway for 5 minutes. If you have a router and a modem, unplug the power cable from both devices.

2. Press and hold the Xbox button on your console for 10 seconds or until it turns off then wait for 2 minutes before turning it on again.

3. After 5 minutes, plug the modem or gateway in first, and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state.

4. If you are using a router, plug in the router and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state.

MIcrosoft, dont give a **** **** about this, gamepass for pc download speeds are awful AF, cant belive im stuck with this ****

My NAT was showing as open, but have Cone NAT too. Upload speed is awful, but download rocks. Ill check the port.

Thanks for you effort. I appreciate it lot.

I have checked in-between the download speed via XO UI and the download speed were the maximum. So I figure out that it had to be upload server lag..

I did manage to survive for 4 h till it was done.

xbox delivers content through AKAMAI Servers. The near the AKAMAI Server is the faster download you will get.

Your DNS Server decides on which AKAMAI Server you connect.

The best would be if you use a DNS Server of your country. But some ISP DNS Servers are very bad configured. So what you can try is:

Change your DNS Settings in Network Settings of your xbox to open DNS. Or Google DNS.

Open DNS: 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220

www.opendns.com/.../opendns-ip-addresses

Google DNS: 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

developers.google.com/.../public-dns

If you have enough time and a PC you can test a tool (namebench) this will show you which is the best DNS Server you can us.

Since I use open DNS - my xbox Dashboard is much faster and also my downloads are better.

The only Problem is Installing the games take long time. You can decreas this if you buy an external faster HDD or SSD for your USB3 Port - this way you can install the games much faster and they also load faster
