    Awful Console Lag On XBOX S


    In Overwatch 2 on my XBOX S I get Latency 60 and Individual 58 … On top of that I get some spikes in the 128s range and some rubber banding

    On my PS5 my latency is 40 and Individual 20 both devices are on the same network with the same exact setup (see below) so it is not on my side and it is the same game so it isn't on Blizzard's side

    Why is my XBOX S network performance so much worse?!?!?!?

    I work in IT so I understand networking and have my system setup the best it possibly can ... I don't want to hear the level one support answer of rebooting my systems and routers that has been done multiple times

    - I have the NAT ports opened correctly

    - I have a top of the line cable modem and router

    - I am hard wired with CAT 7

    - I have tried putting my XBOX console in the DMZ no change

    - I have tried QOS on and off no difference

    - My bandwidth is 343 up and 11.5 down from the router (same numbers when speed testing via XBOX tool)

    - My NAT type is open on the XBOX

    - I tested each DNS server which shouldn’t matter too much but 1.1.1.1 was the one with the least latency not by much

    - I reset my cable modem, router and XBOX multiple time no change

    as overwatch is hosted on blizzard's servers and not Microsoft then it all goes to how the traffic is routed to the server via the ISP, on the PS it could be going a different route from your ISP to the servers compared to how the Xbox route is.

    I will send the best server configuration, if it has already been done, then the error is only on the servers.

    set a fixed ip for the console/PC, open the ports described below, disable and enable the UPnP function and disable the modem firewall, if you have a modem and a router the process has to be done on both devices.

    Put console/PC IP in DMZ zone.

    Port 88 (UDP)

    Port 3074 (UDP and TCP)

    Port 53 (UDP and TCP)

    Port 80 (TCP)

    Port 500 (UDP)

    Port 3544 (UDP)

    Port 4500 (UDP)

    In that case, the only thing left to do is report your problem to Blizzard.
