AWESOME NFL app update on Xbox One coming

Not sure how many football fans are on here but I have great news, the NFL app for X1 is getting an update, supposedly arriving in late August before the season starts. Here are the new features/updates:

• All new interface, based around your favorite teams, players, and your fantasy team, giving you the latest highlights, news, etc.
  
• If you have an NFL Sunday Ticket membership, you can stream any game on the app, as well as access to the Redzone channel and Fantasy channel, along with access to the NFL Vault. The vault lets you replay any past NFL game.
  
• Notifications (if you choose to have them on) will alert you when one of your fantasy players, or your favorite team scores. Hold down the Xbox button on your controller to snap the highlight of the scoring play.
  
• Also in snap mode, you can watch live games or a play by play of games, check scores around the league, check player stats, check your fantasy teams' scores, as well as watch highlights and other cool things.
  
• Possibly the best thing IMO, is the ability to track fantasy teams on Yahoo, ESPN, CBSSports, etc. instead of just NFL.com.

NFL App won't load

Mister Quimby, are you the one who can let me know if an NFL Sunday Ticket app is coming to the Xbox One before the start of the season? Or will my subscription only go through the NFL app?

I'm seeing mixed reports on both. On DirecTV's website, it says to look out for the new NFL Sunday Ticket app, but last year, it was through the NFL app.

 

It stinks for Comcast/ Xfinity subscribers.

The app even has mom and pop cable companies locked in.

 

Moving to yahoo/espn was a great move.

I'm a comcast guy...I'm guessing this is bad news for me?

It really doesn't matter until the NFL stops giving a monopoly to the worst cable company out there. Who has directv? Follow up question, who has directv for a reason other than sunday ticket?

 

I have directv because believe it or not considering our only other options are Time Warner or Dish, then that makes them the best choice for my area. I would not go back to Time Warner for nothing as far as TV is concerned.

 

I have Comcast too, but I have DirecTV for football season. I've heard many more complaints about Comcast, at least in my area, than of DirecTV.

Also I know it's pricey but getting DirecTV NFL Sunday Ticket for the NFL season even if you have another cable provider IMO is well worth it.

 

yep i'm ready for this! the only reason i did my fantasy team with NFL.com this year was because of the Xbox One thing .. had i known ESPN was on board i would've just waited lol .. but whatever i'm excited to track fantasy with it.

 

^^Is the draft still on for Saturday? I shall be there with bells on if it is.

 

I still and probably will never fully understand how fantasy football is fun. I tried it one year, and found I was paying far too much attention to ish I normally don't care about. It did birth the name for the team though: Phil Dawson's Creek.

I'll check out the app. I live in Ohio and cheer for the Arizona Cardinals, so I definitely live outside of their region. If only the NFL could charge you to watch games one at a time, like a pay-per-view thing.

 

can't wait until next year when DirecTv loses their hold on the NFL, would love for MS or AT&T to get the NFL rights

 

^^I dont think the NFL would be stupid enough to give AT&T the rights as AT&T isnt available nationwide like DirectTV is. MS getting the rights could work and would definitely boost sales.
