"Awaiting privileges". Multiplayer not allowed until your privileges are checked, ...

um.... why would anyone think that ms would do this for free? it costs money to provide support for the servers and electricity to run them... never mind the constant need for software updates and the like.

seriously? you think this service should be free? hey if you like being hacked, go right on over to playstation. they get hacked on average once a year or so now. ms might get hacked, but their servers aren't gonna stay dead for very long *cough* sony *cough*

 

I see your point. I come from PCs and then PS3 and never had to pay anything additional to play online in either platform. So it was a surprise to me that now that I decided to venture to XBox One they'll only allow me to play online if I pay an annual fee
(GOLD), in addition to paying for the console and the game. That's all..

In the past they had the same infrastructure costs (my experience on PC and PS3) and didn't charge us a dime for the "privilege to play online", in additional to paying for the console and the game. First of all it's not a privilege to play online when most
games now are developed to be played online and many don't even have single-player anymore. In today's world, where all server-side infrastructure is all virtualized and processing cost has fallen tremendously, instead of offering additional benefits for the
same price, they're going the opposite direction: charging more, while infrastructure expenses have gone down. But, this is business and they're not here for charity, so I get it. It's definitely a trend.. not only in the gaming industry, but in all others.

You get free games every month with Games for Gold although they are mostly rubbish. I like EA's new model of paying a monthly fee then getting access to a library of games, EA Access I think it's called

I have this issue and I'm already a gold member. Has been happening for two days and am getting annoyed.

 

I see the same message, I just click on ok and keep on playing.

 

How can you keep playing? I can't search for or join any matches. I do have a Live subscription, and I'm connected RIGHT NOW. I'm so sick of this.

Before the last update, I waited upwards of 10-15 minutes to find a match, had uneven teams, and got booted halfway through games.

This update was supposed to fix multiplayer. Instead, it won't even let me in. 343 and Microsoft laid a big turd with this multiplayer functionality (or lack thereof).

This still doesn't work. By the time it works properly, the lobbies will be empty.

 

I don't have much of a problem getting into matches.
