Avoid Status

Looks like I hit "Avoid Me" while playing the new Gears of War game... I play with a highly skilled team that is getting reported for winning too much. I never go in game chat. I do message people occasionally. I will stop doing that going forward. I admit
I have talked some trash, I will stop that too. Apparently we can't have our 1st amendment right so on Xbox Live anymore. And if people report you for picking up power weapons or being good, it counts as a valid negative towards your account. I think this
entire new reputation system is flawed as I have stated before. There is no way to get out of bad reputation because you simply can't play games online when your reputation hits a certain level. I ask that my reputation gets reconsidered and that the entire
system should be reviewed going forward. I notice a lot of the top players are also having the same problems with people reporting them for being good. How are you going to police every single multiplayer game when the enforcement team isn't there to know
what exactly happened? Please help me out here, this is a hobby of mine and I have been with Xbox since 2000 with the Xbox Live Beta on my other gamer tag bp23...

Avoid Me Status

I haven't been on my account since last December. I logged on today and found out that my account was hijacked and the reputation is now Avoid Me. I tried playing a few games and now they eithe don't do find games or it takes forever to find one. I contacted
support an and they said the only way for me to get my reputation back up was to play with other avoid me status players to find games faster? Seems really dumb that i have to suffer through this when it wasnt my fault to begin with. Suggestions?

As you've noted the messaging probably didn't help your cause but you technically waive your 1st amendment when you signed up for the service. Each player agreed to the
Code of Conduct which outlines a few of the things you aren't supposed to do while using the Live service. I can't speak on behalf of changing your rep, but the only thing you can do at the
moment is friend search for other "Avoid Me" status players, link up and play online with each other, and avoid receiving any further negative feedback.

 

Thank you for this comment "but you technically waive your 1st amendment when you signed up for the service" - I will be saving and quoting this forum post, as I don't think its appropriate to tell an american citizen that in a nutshell "The constitution
is overridden by Microsofts Code of Conduct". I consider this defamation of the spirit of the United States, and something an "Ambassador" shouldn't be telling a customer. I will be escalating this post and comment as high as I can possibly take it come morning.

 

I stand corrected. I guess your right ha ha. But I still disagree with the way you present it.

Normally I wouldn't ever present it like as my own post but I was merely quoting the original poster's comment as a point of reference and by no means was I slandering any country. Microsoft didn't force the Xbox Live service on anyone. We all have a choice
to use the Xbox Live service. When we chose to use it, we chose to abide by certain terms and conditions. If you violate said terms and conditions, the service you are using will be interrupted if not suspended depending upon the violation. In this particular
case, written abuse was reported and action was taken. It's unfortunate that it can be difficult to overcome that status and get back to a good reputation. However, it's ultimately Microsoft's decision which is why they have the disclaimer:

"Microsoft reserves the right to remove at any time, without notice, any user-created content, account, or device from the Services for actions determined to be in violation of this Code of Conduct or Terms of Use. Microsoft also reserves the right to
immediately terminate or suspend a user for violations."

Just did this on a BF4 server, with 8 people, finished 2 maps. Still at avoid me. It seems games that use this system don't have a fully fledged out system to bring it up, it seems the system only works when the rep is going down.

Glad you were able to find some folks, but I can't imagine that 2 games will start bringing you up immediately from Avoid Me. I'm not sure how many games you would have to play though or how long you would have to go without receiving negative feedback
before that starts to change.

 

I suggest everyone do as I did and fill out with detail, evidence, printouts of the enforcement page, communications with ANYONE involved in your case, support SR#'s, and screenshots and mail it out to Microsoft LCA Arbitration as a last resort. Also take
to social media, I've already contacted polygon, IGN and several other mainstream gaming sites to get help.

XBLPET is just a canned response system with no human interaction, which is shame, since Ive seen several ambassadors refer people to the enforcement forum, but they do nothing to help.
