Avatars on Xbox One

In the new Official Xbox Magazine, their is a header that says that there is a plan to have Avatars more prominent on the Xbox Home Screen. I am all for this, seeing as many have spent money on their avatars to either make them look cool, or not ridiculous.

Would you like to see your Avatars more prominent on Xbox One?

NEW XBOX ONE AVATARS IN APRIL

I read that the new "Xbox One Avatars" are comming out in April (i have some good advice for Microsoft regarding new "Xbox One Avatars" that I am sure most Xbox users will agree with). Make sure the old "Xbox 360 Avatars" will still work on the "Xbox 360" because
many games used them (also many people paid alot of money for them & they want to continue to see the old "Xbox 360 Avatars" even as that console goes offline one day). So my opinion is new "Xbox One Avatars" just on Xbox One & old "Xbox 360 Avatars" just
on xbox 360! Old Avatars are like old games (we still want to use what we paid for). Enough said!

 

Will Avatar Kinect ever see the light on Xbox One?

Avatars are retiring. There will not be an Avatar Kinect on Xbox One. Microsoft is getting rid of avatars and all users who bought gears for the avatars will be issued refunds.

 

Said it in a thread a little while back and my answer is Definitely not - Why?

They add nothing, they serve little to no purpose and are just a waste of time

 

Bring back 1 vs 100 and they'll serve a purpose.

 

Meh. Not really to fussed about it either way. If they return cool, if not thats cool too.

 

i see it like the backgrounds and bio's that have been added, i'm not against these things, but i'd rather they continue to fix bugs and add features before this kind of stuff.

 

I actually would like to see this. I liked on the 360 friends how it had all my friends avatars standing in a row. Some were asleep, indicating they were offline. Personally I think it was a nice touch. For that matter I actually like the 360 smart glass
app better than the new one. The new one seems more aimed at the Facebook/Twitter crowd where the 360 one felt like an extension of the console itself. You could even work on your avatar from it. I just don't see the point of having a nice, fun, animated avatar
if the only time you see it is when you go into the avatar creation screen. At the moment I feel your profile is just so in the back ground!

I see both sides. They can seem pointless. At the same time they can "liven up" the Home screen. However, I also would like to see bugs, and more stability addressed first.

 

I like them as far as for some arcade games. Motocross Madness for one was fun to play with your avatar.

 

I would like to see them like on Xbox 360's Dashboard instead of hiding in an "Avatar App". But at least it's an Xbox Live Feature which was included since Day 1 on Xbox 1.

Some peps may not see the point of 'em. It's better to have them rather than just the Dashboard to have only txt. I'm sure M generates a fair bit of money especially from Xbox 360 when you can buy props clothing and stuff.

There must be a good reason, especially why avatars WASN'T a missing XBL Feature since day 1. Like Doc said, it DOES "Liven" up the home screen especially on Xbox 360. I might check if theres something about that in the Australia/NZ Xbox Official Magazine.

 

I've spent too much on my avatar just to have it all thrown away. It helps give the service more personality while also making it your own...

 

Bring them back to at least what they had on the 360, I had fun playing as my avatar in the games that had it such as Sonic Racing. They should have a show avatar on / off option for those that don't care for it.

Always better to have more options and features and I'm pretty sure that Avatars don't require a massive dev team devoted to them.

 

I loved seeing my avatar booing others in Mortal Kombat and flying airplanes in Snoopy: Flying Ace.
