Avatar Store on Xbox 360 purchases have been disabled.

So it is a sad day for avatar users as no more avatar gears can be purchased in the Avatar Store. It seems that when you open the menu's category, it keeps loading all items and they never complete. In the end, it's safe to say that Avatar Store is closing
and all purchases have been disabled as part of the marketplace shutdown. Right?

Xbox one avatar store purchase

The 360 store is set up differently than the store on the One and xbox.com. The restriction settings will only affect purchases made for the One and not content from the 360 (including avatar item). So you will have to use the 360 to make the purchases.

 

Xbox Gift Cards

The avatar store is set up on the same store as the 360. Unfortunately the One store has never been updated to work with the Microsoft account balance for purchasing items from the 360 store. Hopefully once the new avatars are released you may be able to
purchase the items with the funds.

There's a problem with it loading content on 360 for sure, but I doubt it's deliberate. Also, I can buy content, I just can't see what I'm buying. lol

If you select anything that's in the process of loading it brings up the purchase confirmation prompt. Saving and exiting the store makes the 360 hang for like five minutes too... I thought it'd frozen.

S'just run of the mill service problems in my opinion, methinks, by my reckoning, by mine estimatus... =) Be patient.

 

Actually, everything is disabled. Whenever it brings up the selection of Style or Collection, each items will be deselectable. So, Avatar Store and Avatar Editor mode are closing and is now disabled.

 

Weird. I was browsing the avatar store yesterday and everything worked fine. Perhaps this is part of the devising of a cross platform solution? Avatars have limited screen on the XB1, despite them being there.

 

Decided to go to the xbox.com avatar store to see what's going on, and I just bought the free "Snack Bites" prop. Seems to work fine on the website still.

 

People still buy Avatar items?

Apparently Microsoft had job postings last month for folks able to work in bringing avatars to multiple devices [Polygon article]. Windows 10 has an avatar app alongside its Xbox app.

I think Kanaye is closest to what's going on. Peeps are messing with the features and its affecting performance, but it doesn't look like the avatars are going anywhere. The OP reached his conclusion first, and then piled in his ~cough~ facts second. Ya

OMGoth shoes! However, Avatars are so 2013... I still can't imagine anyone wasting money on them.

 

I buy Avatar gear and that low tier dlc for games, like skin packs and stuff, with rebates from the Rewards program.

Join that, spend a few quid a month on games as normal, and/or do a survey, and get some free nothing-stuff for sh-poos and giggles every coupla weeks or so. ~shrug~
