Avatar Possibly Corrupt, Have to Recreate Every Time.

Hello,

I think my avatar is corrupt. When I try to edit my avatar, it seems to reset and asks me to pick a new character to start from. When I do that, I go to start editing hairstyles, and then it tells me I need to download new avatar items, however the green
bar doesn't actually move. I have a healthy Internet connection, as I am able to download game content and play online just fine. All other game saves and Gamerscore data appear healthy. I have gone into my Avatar Items and deleted corrupt items. I've actually
had to do that on 3 different occasions, as new items appear to have been corrupted since the previous check. I have also deleted Marketplace data out of System Items and the Avatar Editor out of Games and Apps, as well as clearing the system cache, but this
still happens. Any ideas on what else I can try to fix this? I did use my PC to rebuild my avatar, but I'm not sure if that will transfer over to the console and stay.

Also check the drive for corrupt files.

Corrupt files can cause it to take ages to load up. I've noticed corrupt avatar files seem to slow load up times by a lot.

You don't loose the licenses for the Avatar clothes/props that you bought, they just aren't available to you if they don't match the gender of your Avatar. As for "switching" and "losing", you only have one Avatar. If you change it, you lose that Avatar
and would have to recreate him/her if you ever wanted to again.

this is likely not something caused by your avatar itself, but it's more likely your profile on the console or your hard drive.

The thing to try is to delete your profile from the xbox console and redownload it. See this link for the steps to delete the profile and how to download it:

Also be sure to clear the cache after delete your profile (Profile only) from the console:

support.xbox.com/.../clear-system-cache

That might solve the problem.

Thank you for your suggestion. Deleting and re-downloading the profile appears to have resolved the avatar problem and another problem I was having as well. I forgot to clear my cache in between deleting and re-downloading, but I was sill able to modify
and save my avatar.

That's good to hear. The clearing of the cache isn't a mandatory step for this issue, but since it can cause issues sometimes I did mention it. So since it is working correctly now, there is no need to clear the cache.

@WPAK. My profile has corrupted avatar items. I delete them, clear the cache, delete the profile only clear cache again, redownload profile, and after all of that. corrupted avatar items come back and my xbox 360 is slower than ***. Can't play some games
due to loading boards takes a long time or does not load at all, (World of Tanks). On COD Black Ops boards wont load and kicks me out of the lobby.
