Av component cable sends out video but no sound

I lost sound on my tv last night but the video comes in just fine. I am using component cables on a older tv. I checked to see if the problem was the tv by using another tv with the component cables and even used a new set of cables from a previous xbox360.
Still no sound just video. Brought the system over to a friends and try hdmi cable and I got video and sound. This leads me to believe that the internal av connector or board is bad. Is there any fix to this?

    :)

  2. No sound on xbox console using HDTV

"Best I can suggest is to keep the HD/SD slider set to HD and connect to the TV via the Component video leads (red/green/blue) and the red/white audio leads. I'm assuming you have the Component AV cable with the console as you mentioned the switch which
is found on that cable".Yes thats what i'm doing, but still no sound, thanks anyway mate.

The only fix is to physically either re-solder the connections or replace the A/V part. Unless of course it is the TV itself that has dodgy ports.

Do you have something else with which you can test the sound through the same ports on the TV? Any phono connection will do, even something like an MP3 player or a phone with a jack to phono lead.

    No signal through HDMI cable.

Hey there! The reset video setting only works with the VGA/AV or Component cable. If you still want a complete reset, just connect a VGA/AV or Component cable to the Xbox360 and turn on your Xbox360. It should turn on normally. Then remove the cable. You
will get 4ROL. Now connect the HDMI cable back and see if it works.

    Dual connection question
Actually yes you can do exactly that with the old component cables,
Sort of.
just make sure that the switch is set to TV and it will send analog video to both the composite and component side of the cables.
    The AV
port only outputs analog video signals. Component, Composite, and VGA are all analog. What switching the cable to TV mode does is limit the output to 480i. That can be carried by both the Composite and Component leads at the same time.

Unfortunately, it will look awful as it'll be standard defintiion.

    problem with colors

    This hurts to read...

First, some history: from Launch until September, 2009, all HDD-equipped consoles came with a Component AV port cable. Component cables have two cable clusters. The first cluster has three RCA plugs colored red, green, and blue. The second cluster has three
RCA plugs, colored yellow, red, and white. On more than one occasion, I've inadvertently swapped the green and blue Component AV port cable RCA plugs when connecting to a display device. It's why I use a flashlight now when wiring up Component video. In the
dark behind a TV, it's easy to get blue and green Component jacks mixed up.

From Launch until September, 2009, the low-end consoles (Core, Arcade) came with a Composite cable that fits in the AV port. It only has three RCA plugs at the other end - yellow for Composite video and red/white for audio.

From September, 2009, onward, the only video cable included with 360 console kits is the Composite cable.

HDMI's a completely different cable that goes into the HDMI port, below the AV port. HDMI cables were included with Elite console bundles and most Special/Limited edition consoles prior to September, 2009 (with the notable exception of the Halo 3 console). Consoles
that came with an HDMI cable also included a thin AV port dongle to provide left/right and optical audio out.

Anywho, to sort this out we need to know exactly which cable is being used with the console - Composite, Component, or HDMI? From what is being described, it seems a Component cable with swapped green/blue plugs, but it would be nice to know for sure.
