    Autopay

I have been gaming on xbox consoles since the first generation console was released. I prefer xbox to playstation for many reasons. I also prefer to pay with my debit or credit card, for convenience. Now EVERY time I have ever renewed my subscription, it
puts me on autopay, even though I select not to. I have heard of the same problem from many of my friends. I am a full time student and I work full time as well. That being said, I dont get to play much anymore and some months I cant really afford to subscribe
to GOLD. I have YET AGAIN been put on auto pay, and I am very unhappy about it. I wont call and badger some poor phone representative, but I want to say, if this happens again, I will cancel my xbox subscriptions completely, and trade my xbox for a playstation.
I dont want to do this, but if I cannot trust your payment methods, I will move on.

    :)

    Billing Autopay Question

Thanks for the answers. I'll give phone support a call tomorrow to disable autopay, then repay the money I owe once I have it.

Really wish there was some kind of system in place to save people from making stupid mistakes like I did. For example, if an account has the autopay feature on, but the account is not active for over 30 days, then the autopay feature is temporarily disabled,
until the person signs back on, and can then re-enable the autopay feature.

  3. I've found a glitch in the system

Uh oh... that shouldn't have happened.

It appears you've found a glitch in the system.

This is what I get when I try to update my autopay. I've tried three different browsers (IE, Firefox and Chrome) and gone through commerce.microsoft.com, and have been unable to re-enable autopay by any means.

Not that I agree with how auto renewal works, but when first signing up for a membership, there is no option to select no auto renewal. You have to finish the purchase then go to your membership details through xbox.com or account.live.com to turn off the
auto renewal. There is no option to do this through the console settings. Also Microsoft won't read this post. This is all for players just like you. Never be worried about calling support. That's what they're there for. =)

stellar22, I truly admire your loyalty with Xbox and I feel sad that you had to experience this inconvenience. As what FunkyForestFrog said, when you purchased an Xbox Live Gold subscription, it's automatically set as auto-renewal. Therefore, going to the
account.microsoft.com/services website will allow you to disable the auto-renewal of the subscription. As an alternative option, why not try to purchase an Xbox Live Prepaid Code instead
via: Microsoft Store Deutschland Offizielle Website - kostenloser Versand, kostenlose Rückgabe With this, all you will need to do is redeem a 25 alphanumeric character code into your account as it would expire and won't renew once it ended.
