Automatically changed Gamertag though inquiry successful

Hi everybody,

a couple of days ago I got an email, saying that I had to visit enforcement.xbox.com, because I had violated xbox live terms and services. Turns out my gamertag [Mod Removed-Personal Info/GT] got flagged and automatically changed.

Since I didn't (and still don't) see how [Mod Removed-Personal Info/GT] would violate any naming rules (Fuchur is the original, german name for the luckdragon Falkor from the 80s book/movie The Neverending Story), I started an inquiry about
the changing of my gamertag.

I provided the enforcement agent with all that information about how Fuchur was my nickname since it kinda sounds similar to my last name [Mod Removed-Personal Info/Last Name] and also told them about The Neverending Story and so on.

This morning I get another email, that the status of my inquiry has changed again (this happend two times before, where they offered me the chance to submit any additional information) and that I should check it out on enforcement.xbox.com.

Going to the site the button on the left now says "Congratulations! You have a perfect record"

So I guess the inquiry was successful, the enforcement agent must have realized, that [Mod Removed-Personal Info/GT] is an okay gamertag. There's no way for me to see the comments I sent or the replys I got during the interaction with the
enforcement agent anymore.

However my gamertag is still changed to something automatically generated and I can't change it back manually (system says that [Mod Removed-Personal Info/GT] is already taken)

Who do I contact or what do I do, to get my old gamertag back? I've had it since the release of the Xbox360 and I would absolutely hate to lose it.

Gamertag automatically changed

I recently changed my phone from Lumia 520 to Nokia 3 after my Lumia bricked. I used to play Age of Empires:Castle Siege on my Lumia and Xbox had given me my gamertag "Player056505407". After downloading AoE:CS on my new phone (android) I signed in
with my old email ID (I repeat old ID as I have checked many times) but my gamertag was changed to
. Due to the change in gamertag I lost all my gamerscore and most impotantly my progress in AoE:CS as they are identifying me as new player and giving me a new castle. I have logged in to check in Xbox.com but it is changed there too. I also
tried changing to my old tag but the site throws me an error that the tag is already taken.

I really need to get my tag back. Once again I repeat I'm using my only MS account credentials.

Head over to http://enforcement.xbox.com although there only little hope that you will get the old gamertag back.. Sorry.

I have checked if that GT was still availble but didn't find another account with that GT so it should be availble

 

Hi, they may well have removed the enforcement action from your account, as you gave valid evidence as to the gamertag origin. They may not let it be reissued, as to how it appears to resemble or suggest something in a different language. What appears a
harmless word/name in one language/Country may infact be seen as something bad in another Country.

Contacting support will not help resolve the issue.

 

Turns out that's pretty much what it was about.

I since tried contacting support and they told me that Fuchur is some character in a
(Mod Removed-Profanity)... Their database on that stuff must be pretty huge, I tried to google fuchur myself when the whole enforcement thing happened and only got results for the neverending story. I didn't look further than googles first
page of results though...

At least now I know why the name got flagged. Still a shame about my decade old gamertag, but then again it's just a gamertag...

The one positive is you have a clean slate.

You could create a fantastic and safe gamertag, only for it to get changed because urban culture adopts it as something with connotations that would boggle anyones mind.
