    Automatic Updates not working... Sort of.


    Ok, I have my Xbox One S set as Home Xbox and the box checked to keep my Xbox and my games update to date, yet it REFUSES to update any game, updates apps just fine, just none of my games... Which sucks as I came home today to a 48 gig Fallout 76 update
    waiting to start!

    I have factory reset my Xbox Multiple times, check my router for weird settings, also no data caps that I can see off anywhere... Not sure what is going on.....

    Requesting Forum Access Permission?

    There's no date on availability. I'm sure that once you gain access to the forums you'll be able to see any sort of information in there that pertains to the update. This will be an automatic update, if you're playing Xbox LIVE, you will automatically be
    prompted to download this update the moment it's available to you like other system updates in the past.

    I never downloaded a 20GB patch for MCC

    I don't remember having a prompt to download it, but the multiplayer works just fine. Is it possible it automatically updated without me knowing?

    Hey there Artayu,

    Sorry to hear you are running into this problem, other than the "Keep Games & apps up to date" box being checked, are you using an external hard drive on the console? If you have an external hard drive you do want to make sure that the storage is not turned
    off when you turn off the console.

    You would have to go through your

    • Settings
    • Click on Power & Startup
    • Select Power Mode & Startup
    Once here make sure that you have your console set to instant-on, and that you have the box on the right side unchecked for "When Xbox is off, turn off storage"

    I hope this works.

    If you have set it up correctly to receive updates automatically, the system may only check available updates each night when it detects that you are not using it.     Almost all my Xbox Game Pass for PC games redirect me to Gaming Services and will not start

    I did this a month ago and it did work again after it completed, which took about an hour by the way. However it was only temporary because I'm back with the same problem. There must be some sort of automatic update that is happening somewhere that is putting it in this state.

    What happened to the Dashboard Update on May 19

    I got some sort of massive update early this afternoon. Not sure if this was it or not, but it took about 5-7 minutes to complete. It automatically restarted my Xbox and everything.
