  2. Once again, my common sense is tingling. I know that my account or anyone who logs into it, can be used to purchase XBL content, unless I change that in settings. I also know that I can create a child account, set the proper restrictions so that no purchases
can be made under that account, then secure it and my account with a password, then set it so that new accounts cannot be created by anyone's account but mine. For those who just seem to
want to be oblivious, that means all I'd have to do is sign out of my password protected account, leaving the standard "Nobody signed in" Home screen there and presto. Anyone signing into existing accounts cannot make purchases, cannot create new accounts
with which to make purchases and only those with my password can sign into my account. Safeguard found, problem solved. SO glad I agreed NOT to have that! Laughable indeed.

    In fact, looking
    here
will even explain how to require a passkey to make changes/purchases even if I'd stupidly walk away and forget to sign out... which BTW would be
totally my fault, hence my responsibility to bare if someone did find a way around that particular safeguard that I agreed not to have.

I know all of that and I don't even need to since there aren't any children in our house. And that's not even mentioning the common sense fact that I wouldn't let a 2(ish) year old out of arms' reach, let alone "run to the bathroom" while they had access
to any device where purchases or sensitive settings could be accessed... "accidentally"... or not.

The old saying about making something foolproof simply begs the world to find better fools applies once again. Safeguards are in place. They're not perfect and never will be thanks to an endless supply of better fools, but they look to be plenty adequate
for those with the motivation to seek out how to use them. The ultimate safeguard is the combination of parent/account holder, common sense and a sense of responsibility and that can't be replaced by thousands of built in features.

  3. Common sense dictates that you NEVER give $Micro-to-$Macro Soft, nor Sony for that matter access to you Credit/Debit cards in the first place. Do that and you won't even need setting. lol

Safegards, so if you have to run to the bathroom you're 2 year old can't accidentally buy things.

I guess having to reinter you CC info to confirm you are actually YOU and not a 2 year old is too much of an inconvenience in this 'modern age.' lol

Laughable as always. No ones 2 year old is buying things on Xbox.

    You never disappoint. lol

The other thing to do is to sign into your Xbox Live account on a PC, then click on "Services and Subscriptions" from there you'll be able to find an option called "Purchase History".

If you click on that you'll be able to find out exactly what was purchased and hopefully be able to find out if it was your son buying Fifa coins (they can be really expensive) or possibly fraudulent activity.

You are LEGALLY entitled to a Transaction Reversal. In New Zealand and Australia, our laws protect against this. Americans may not think so. But LAW overrides contracts with companies, because laws are made by governments. Contracts are made by companies,
not governments. Governments are higher than companies. Microsoft does not make the Law. You applicable laws and legal rights are made by your countries government. Sure it may be wiser to make sure you safeguard your info more better. Xbox 1 has a security
feature where if you want to purchase something on your console, you can program it to ask for a pin or your password, before the transaction is approved. If you look under Microsoft's terms of use, it clearly states:

    8. APPLICABLE LAW.

    • a. United States and Canada. If you acquired the application in the United States or Canada, the laws of the state or province where you live (or, if a business, where your principal
place of business is located) govern the interpretation of this agreement and applies to claims for breach of it and all other claims (including consumer protection, unfair competition and tort claims) regardless of conflict of laws principles.
    • b. Outside the United States and Canada. If you acquired the application in any other country, the laws of that country apply.
