    Auto-Update Not Working


    Neither of my Xbox Ones auto-updates while they are off. Both are set to "instant on" mode and both have the settings "keep my console up to date" and "keep my games & apps up to date" checked. Both consoles are also set to turn off after one hour of inactivity.
    I am not sure what else to do. I cannot for the life me get my auto-updates to work. Assistance will be appreciated. Thank you.

    Auto Updates Not Working

    My auto updates are not working, especially system updates. I turn on my Xbox One about once every month or two and always have a ton of updates.

    I've read many other older posts with the same issue but have not seen a solution.

    How can I fix this?

    When turning the console off do you just press the off button on the console or hold it? Or is it by controller since there are 2 ways to turn off the system and leaving it.

    One puts it in a sleep mode while the other fully shuts down the console. When you turn your system on do you get the green boot logo if so then it has been fully shutdown.

    Hey there KLEMIN 1,

    Do you currently have the console set to Instant On Mode with Automatic Updates enabled? If the console loses power connection or internet connection at any point between the time you turn it off and the time you turn it back on, it's possible the updates
    will not take place.

    I am also experiencing this. Just updated to XB1X and getting the same as I was when I had my OG Xbox One.

    I don't know if being an Insider member has anything to do with it?

    Which Xbox Console do you have?
    And what energy save option do you have on the console selected?

    Besides factory reset and turn off and on auto updates, which troubleshooting steps you have done so far to fix this?
    In that way I can advise you different things or how to proceed

    I personally didn't experience this issue on my both consoles

    Among many of the features my Xbox has that don't work auto update hasn't worked in years.

    It's just a Xbox one standard with 500gb HD and 2tb external, power settings are set to standby.

    Are there anymore troubleshooting options other than hard resets and toggling the features?

    Honestly baffled by how **** Microsoft services are
