Auto sign in

Hello,

About 60% of the time when turning on my Xbox, it will not sign in automatically. It gives me a "Sorry" message the bottom and tells me to sign in using the controller, and it tells me to check my network. All I have to do is select my name at the top and
then "sign in as this person" and it's good to go. But this really defeats the purpose of auto sign in since it happens most of the time. Is there any way I can fix this? Thanks in advance.

2.Select Settings, and then select Profile.

3.Select Sign-in Preferences.

4.Select Auto Sign-in, and then make the changes that you want.

Xbox 360 Launches Games in Black Screen after deleting profile.

Disabling the profile from "auto sign in" also works.

Just sign-in after the game starts..

auto sign-in is under profile>sign-in preferences

 

Can you please try holding the power button on the console for 10 seconds until it shuts down to see if that improves the issue?

 

Thanks for your reply. I've actually done this several times over the course of owning the Xbox, and it has never helped. I even moved the Xbox a week or so ago (so it was unplugged for an extended period of time) and it has had no effect. I still experience
the same problem.

Yes I do have Kinect. It is set to turn on and off the TV when the Xbox turns on.

 

It could be an issue with the modem. Can you please try holding the power button for 10 seconds again then when the console is off unplug everything from it and let it sit for 5 minutes.

While the console is off unplug the modem/router for 10 seconds to allow it to reset.

 

I have tried this before and it didn't work... but just for the heck of it I did it again. Still no go. I've done all of the basic troubleshooting steps, and I'm no novice technology user. Is there anything else to be tried?

 

I have been having what sounds like the same issue for months now. Auto-sign in just doesn't work or properly refresh 75% on start-up. I end up with screens like this which show that I am signed in, but the xbox video app doesn't recognize it:

And it is really hard to find any one else who has this issue, yet I run into it pretty much daily. Very frustrating.

This thread is a little older. Did you give the power cycle solution (holding the power button for 10 seconds until the console turns off) that onyx mentions in his post a shot yet? If not go ahead. If you still have problems afterward, please make sure

My issue still has not been resolved. I have done all of the troubleshooting steps mentioned. I even recently got a new modem (from my ISP when my service was upgraded) and a new router (old one died) and it made no difference.

I am sorry that this still is an issue for you, now I had some sign in issues back when the Xbox One first came out and I called Xbox Tech Support, so if this link to the solution we came up with doesn't work for you, I would suggest giving them a phone
call, their phone support has always been able to help when I finally have to give in.

I realize it might not seem to have anything to do with your issue, but I didn't think it had anything to do with my issue either and this worked and has helped all my friends and the forum post has a few other helped users. I'm pulling for ya!

Let us know what happens, and if you do end up calling and get a solution, post it - others may be having this issue as well.
