Auto-Renewal Removal

I have not used a credit card or PayPal account to purchase Xbox Live for years. I have always used a prepaid card. I am trying to remove my PayPal info in order to gameshare with someone and it will not allow me as it says that it cannot be removed until
I change my subscription to NOT auto-renew Xbox Live.

I have NEVER authorized an auto-renewal for Xbox Live.

The website account.microsoft.com is useless in this as the only option I have is to cancel my current remaining subscription from the prepaid card and not to cancel at the end of subscription.

I NEED THIS FIXED TONIGHT.

Canceling subscription

Be careful when requesting cancellation of your auto renewal or removal of your credit card. Cancelling auto renewal or removal of your credit card on file will effectively cancel your subscription and in most normal circumstances revert you to a Free member.
Any remaining time on your subscription is normally forfeited unless there is extenuating circumstances and you specifically request reimbursement via token code.

(no news about comprimised accounts except for people who get phished which should be taken with a grain of salt but anyways)

autorenewal info is up there with the stickies noone reads the stickies and like to complain even if it takes more time to complain then it does to make the call

If your account is set to auto-renew, that would be why you can not remove the card. You will need to turn off the auto-renew than remove the card. Auto-renew can only actually do its work if there is a card to charge, and removing the card first does not
turn it off and can break the system, which is why it wont let you remove the card first.

In short, turn off auto-renew, then try removing your card.

You need to turn off your auto-renew first, then try removing the expired card. As long as the account is still set to auto-renew you will need to have a card for it to renew to. If you wish to keep the auto-renew on then you need to change the card it renews
to first before removing the old card. Hope this helps.

once you have cancelled the auto renew you should be able to remove the card.

you can`t remove it with the auto renew on.
