Auto-muting? Help!

So this weekend I bought a One and upgraded my copy of Ghosts. It's been kind of frustrating (it took an entire day just to download enough to play), and the next day I was only able to play a handful of games with my friends before becoming too frustrated
to continue.

My problem is, when playing games with friends in my Ghosts party (not Xbox party), some or all of them automatically get muted. I go to unmute them in the lobby, and it just says "cannot toggle mute". Same goes for trying to unmute them in the middle of
a game - I pause the game, go to mute players, unmute all, but nothing happens. I have to turn my One off and on to get it to unmute them, but they just get auto-muted again in a game or two. It's EXTREMELY frustrating.

I googled the problem, but never found any real answers. Some posts suggested that it might be because of the One's voice detection...I play with my husband side by side, and I thought it may be something one of us had said, but it's happened when the room
is completely silent, too. Please help! I want to play on my new console, but I'm almost always playing with a group and needless to say, my friends being muted makes it kind of hard.

Use the FAL semi auto with ACOG. Semi auto takes time to get used to, but once you're used to it, the power of this gun will help you become extremely deadly in any of the maps.

 

I'm just going to take a shot in the dark and make a suggestion. As of right now (this will change march 11th), when you invite someone to an xbox live party, they're going to be directed to game chat. You have to manually switch to party via the party's
snap app. I'm not entirely sure if this feature has something to do with why your party members are muted, but I'm assuming that the Xbox one automatically puts your party together within the party app, like a default. Not sure.. See if your party members
show up at all in the party when you group with them in game. Hope this helps. If not, I will do some tests on my end. I have also experienced issues like this but they become few and far in between as I learn more about my console.

 

I don't think it has anything to do with the Xbox Live party...I thought it might have at first, but they stayed muted in-game when I was in the party chat, in the game chat, and even when I (and everone else) had left the party altogether. They do show
up in the party when we group up in the game, though. No one's muted in the party chat, only the in-game Ghosts chat...but since we play a lot of S&R, we can't stay there. :/

 

Well, Search and Rescue/ Search and Destroy will cut out your team mates when they're eliminated. I like to have skype running when I play those game modes with my friends so that we don't lose connection and are able to speak to each other throughout the
matches. But if it's a Call of Duty issue and not an Xbox live issue, you might want to try live chatting with an Activision support tech and see what they have to say about it.

I don't think they're available for chatting right now, but they'll be open here soon. If that doesn't help, you can always call a live representative.

 

Yeah, it's definitely not the game mode since it happens in the lobbies before the games start up as well. All of them have the muted symbol next to their name. I never thought of the Skype thing, that's not a bad idea if it doesn't fix itself. I'm probably
going to have to resort to calling or chatting with Activision, though...thanks for the suggestions!

 

Certain game modes dont allow private chat or there was a patch in the last update in reference to mute and lobbies. If that hasnt fixed it I dunno.

 

Yeah, the in-game chat is what I'm talking about. Party chat and private chat work fine.

 

Read the update patch for 2/19, it should be in there. Theres a thread here about it somewhere. I think it was suppossed to be fixed. I dunno, I havent even tried to party up yet on the Xbone.

 

Do you happen to notice if this only happens after the game migrates?

@MotherWork, nope! It's started happening before we even got into a game before.

It was happening again last night and we were forced to play in party chat. The game's been out since November - I'd expect HUGE bugs like this to be fixed three months after release. It's disappointing.

 

Party chat works? Whats the problem? Unless you are playing those game modes with no party chat allowed? I dont even know how to start a party on the Xbone yet, LOL.

 

I know, it's so confusing compared to the 360! I get how to do it, but I feel like they made the whole process a little too complicated. That's my problem, though...Search and Rescue's my favorite gametype, LOL.

 

This same issuer happens to me then says I can't toggle mute when I try to I mute them. I usually stay in party chat though so it prevents this
