  1. Auto HDR Not Enabled After Instant On

Already reported this on the Insider App, but I was able to duplicate this consistently on my TV. I'm in the Omega circle.

Basically, if you're using Auto HDR on games (indicated by the icon on the top right), and you turn off the console (with Instant On enabled) and turn it back on and enter the game again, it will say Auto HDR in the top right, but the TV does not detect an HDR signal from the Xbox and display in SDR.

You can quickly re-enable it by using quick resume, switching out of the game into another, and then switching back.

I'm curious to see if others are seeing this bug too.

    HDR

    Hi JayJoe1,

So there is no difference, you enable HDR on your TV then your console will auto enable it when you play HDR content, otherwise if you play a game or a video that does not support HDR it will not enable HDR. Like Darkist1 said the picture especially in shows
on Netflix will appear a lot darker, this is the HDR showing more colors, you can try adjust your picture while watching a HDR video to try improve this to your liking.

    Xbox one S HDR Stutter

No auto brightness enabled, and definitely not a vizio problem. My friend has the same tv and an xbox one s and his doesnt do it. HDR through the tv app works fine, 4k through xbox one S works fine, its only when HDR is enabled that the stutter exists.

    HDR blanked out in settings?

The HDR setting on the TV is on, it is called HDMI ULTRA HD Deep Colour and it is enabled on both HDMI ports.

It is set to auto detect and it comes up with 4kUHD.

Constant console updates - kicking me out of games etc.

    @Alissa914

Sure I can invite you! Regarding the auto updates while your Xbox is off, yes my console does this when I have Instant-on enabled with auto updates.

Xb1x says not all 4k & hdr features supported

The surge protector wouldn't cause issues with HDR, but you still shouldn't use one as the console is already protected. Using a protector on the Xbox one can cause severe instability issues.

Have you connected your console to an HDMI that supports HDR? On many TV's, not all HDMI ports have HDR support. Also, have you enabled HDR on the source HDMI you have your console connected to? HDR is not on by default. HDR is already enabled for Smart
    TV apps.
First off thanks for the help,

I will try plugging it into the wall without a surge protector, I have it connected to hdmi port 2 because the tv manual says ports 2 and 3 have hdr and hdmi 2.2 support.

And as far as the hdr setting on the tv I have it set to auto, the options are auto, hdr 10 and hdl. But come to think of it I just downloaded a firmware update that adds Dolby Vision to the tv.
