Auto HDR causing black screen in Journey (PC)

I have all the most recent drivers installed. All other games seem to work fine with Auto HDR enabled, but for whatever reason, Journey starts with a completely black screen that can only be resolved by turning Auto HDR off. To be clear, the game is not frozen as I can hear the audio and it does not show up as "not responding' in the task manager. As soon as I turn off Auto HDR it works fine. My main question is is this more of a Microsoft issue or a graphics driver issue, in this case Nvidia?

Hi,

If you've got the latest graphics driver and Windows updates then it could be that the game doesn't support Auto HDR. While most PC titles should support Auto HDR It's still a little hit and miss on PC.

Unless your monitor/TV has at least HDR 600 (600 Nits peak brightness) it's usually not worth turning on.

Not sure if this helps but some TVs when the console detects HDR content certain TVs will automatically switch to your HDR settings which causes the screen to go black and them come back on I have a LG OLED and this happens to me alot

There was an official Problem with HDR Flickering on that TVs and Xbox but that should be fixed a time ago

I have an Acer XV252Q monitor, and I was having the same problem. What fixed it for me was I went under Settings > TV & display options > Video Modes. I unticked the “Allow HDR10” (and made sure the “Auto HDR” was unchecked). Turning of the 4K option might help to if that causes any issues. So far so good, no black screen since ticking off those boxes.

The screen flickers when HDR or HDMI ULTRA HD Deep Colour is on in the TV, after a while of flickering it goes black, then the TV loses the signal from the Xbox. That's
my problem.

If I deactivate HDMI ULTRA HD Deep Colour, then there's no more flickering and no more black screen.

Well it isn't fixed yet, I'm 100% sure I am on the latest firmware on both the LG C9 and the Xbox One X.
