    Auto-Detect video settings stopped working

I turned on my Xbox One today to find that the Audio isn't working and the Display resolution is all screwed up. I have my One connected by HDMI to a Samsung 1080p TV. The display settings are set to Auto detect but it is displaying in 640 x 480 and there
is no audio either. It won't even allow me to select a different TV resolution. It has worked fine for the year+ that I have had my console up to this point. I tried power cycling and unplugging the console, used a different HDMI cable, used a different TV
    input; nothing changes, same problem.

    :)

As odd as it may seem, have you tried setting your video output settings to “auto detect”?

Blu-ray app distorts image when playing DVDs but Blu-ray is OK

have you tried setting the xbox one to 720 in the video settings instead of auto?

it may be trying to go to 1080 in auto mode.

In settings turn off auto detect and choose 720P?

Not sure if it's your TV or console that's the issue there, especially if you've swapped out the HDMI. The only way to check would be to either connect a different Xbox One console to the TV or to connect your console to another TV to see which is at fault.
In the meantime though you should be able to de-select "Auto-Detect" and put the resolution and audio out in manually to get your desired outputs.

my console is stuck on 640x480

Hi Mark. My name is Kyle and I'm an independent advisor.

Make sure to set TV connection to Auto detect:

Go to Settings > General > TV & display options.

In Video fidelity and overscan, go to overrides and make sure it's set to auto detect. If it's already set to auto detect, try changing it to HDMI.

Xbox One X 4k stopped displaying had to reset resalution- On second xbox

In the video output settings on the Xbox do you have the HDMI set to auto detect ?

    No Audio

Hi, in the display output settings on the Xbox check that you do not have DVI set. That only outputs video not audio. You should ideally have it set at Auto Detect or even HDMI if Auto Detect gives you issues.
