    Auto-Detect limits resolution to 640 X 480 on 4K TV

My Xbox One S will only display 640 X 480 on my Samsung UN65KS8000FXZA 4K SUHD. If I manually select HDMI as my TV connection I can then select 1080p but it won't let me select 4K becasue it says my TV doesn't support 4K at 60Hz. I have contacted Samsung
and they said to make sure that HDMI UHD Color is set to on for the HDMI input the Xbox is connected to but it doesn't fix it.

    Thanks,

    -Brandon

  3. Aspect Ratio Problem

If I set it to HDMI instead of auto-detect and when I change the resolution to 1080 or 720 it is still cut off. Except when the resolution gets changed to 640 x 480 but then is it squished and very blurry and only the top and bottom green lines can be seen.

Is there any way you could send me a link to those forums?

  4. Auto-Detect limits resolution to 640 X 480 on 4K TV

    Hey there,

Are you using the HDMI cable that came with the console. If not, it could be that the HDMI cable itself doesn't support 4K.

I'm am using the cable supplied that came with the console, The TV has an external media hub which the HDMI cable is hooked up to and then there is a cable from that media hub to the tv. I removed the media hub cable and hooked it back up and everything
    is working correctly now.

  6. Cool. My next post was going to be "Is there anything connected between your console and your TV?".

    Glad you got it sorted.

Still getting the "That didn't help" error

Upon changing the Display Overrides from Auto-Detect to HDMI, the picture changed to a 640 x 480 resolution and 4K was not an available option. Interesting!

    Thoughts??

    Thanks again Sammy!

Xbox seriesX only 640x480 in autodetect mode

Same issue with my vizio e55-f0. All my hdmi's are 2.0 and capable of 4k and all are set for uhd on.

Auto detect gives me 640 x 480 and nothing else. When I force it to hdmi it gives me 1080p but the allow 4k option is greyed out.

So frustrating as my ps4 pro has no issues on this TV, nor does my one x.
