audio worries for xbox one

im hopeing someone can help im hearing a static noise threw all my sets as i thought it was the controllers fault i bought a new one and the noise still seems to come threw the headset so i bought a new adapter and i never got asked to do an update for
it and the headsets still make a static noise when people talk or i watch films people can hear me talking in party chat and games chat but i cant hear them as its a brand new head set and brand new adapter and a brand new controller and my xbox is telling
me that all updates have been done why does my head set make a static noise everytime i plug my headset in please does anyone have any ideas how to fix this as im starting to think its the xbox it self but what would be wrong with it

PCM audio over HDMI

Yes it's giving a resolution of 1920x1080. I'm currently using the thin A/V adapter technique you mentioned just fine but I wanted it to work with our existing audio system. No worries, I'll do something with the audio setup instead. Thanks for clarifying

It doesn't matter. Both the HDMI audio output and the optical audio output provide the same audio signal. While one is optical and one is electrical, both are digital and contain the same information.

The only thing you should worry about is if the receiver introduces any latency in the HDMI video path.

The Xbox One does support Audio Receivers so don't worry, you would just plug your HDMI Out from your Receiver into the HDMI In for the Xbox One and then input the information on what receiver you're using. While I don't know the specifics of your model/setup
in general users of major brands should be fine.

Where did you buy the cable and how much did you spend on it? You don't need the Xbox one, but from personal experience, some lesser quality HDMI cables less than 5 dollars don't work that well.

If you have HDMI, forget about the optical/digital audio port unless you want to connect your console to a home theater system. HDMI offers better audio and is just one cable to worry about.
