  1. Audio - video synch problems

I used the optical connections between the Xbox and my home theater system since day one because my older theater didn't support ARC channel. With this setup when ever using anything besides LPCM the audio so out of synch my lip synch function couldn't get
it close. If I used 5.1 or the 7.1 settings on Xbox I couldn't hear the voice correctly. Before the new dashboard the old bit stream uncompressed got close. Hear was that setup Samsung cable box into Xbox via HDmi audio in cable box set to Dolby digital. HDMI
into my tv from Xbox and then optical to my theatre. Now I learned that optical is only capable of 2 channel lpcm audio so my home theater would take that and try to make a 5.1 audio source out of that. Now this worked well as long as I used lpcm stereo uncompressed
from Xbox via HDMI to my tv.

so I decided to get a new home theatre system Sony 7.1 with ARC and 4 HDMI inputs. From hooking up other previous console it's not generally good to tame cable box into the Xbox then into the home theater video and then to the TV the picture severely degrades.
So I went cable to Xbox via HDMI then to tv via HDMI. Then use my vizio ARC port to the Sony ARC port using HDMI cable. This using only the HDMI cable for audio to and from can support a uncompressed bit stream audio channel. This will give the best sound
bit stream in then bit stream out to the theater system. Not having the audio source converted or changed between multiple devices. I still had a synch problem audio lagging behind the video.there shouldn't be any problems with this setup straight uncompressed
audio throughout. When I change the Xbox settings to stereo uncompressed then no problem. I think the Xbox driver or codec is compresses the bit stream audio source then my tv has to uncompress before sending to the Sony. I took the Xbox ran straight to tv
without having the cable box run through the Xbox and the sound perfect on any setting. And the Sony recognize the bit stream Dolby or dts signal correctly. Even the LPCM is correctly identified when the Xbox is set to stereo ! As soon as I add the cable box
to run through the Xbox and then to the tv the problem returns. I think Microsoft would have done better if they had passthrough function like my Sony has. It would be nice to be able to shut Xbox off and still get video and audio through. I think it has to
do with the way Xbox handles the video and audio input I'm not sure if this can be driver fix etc.

    :)

  4. Audio - video synch problems

My Xbox 360 didn't have this problem because I believe the 360 gave the option of compression or not and didn't have to handle video. Sorry that post a little hard to read ! Wrote it on my windows phone which I love except for the spellchecker.

  5. I found this unique answer to a video audio synch problem. Xbox incorrectly I'd my tv to video fidelity of 50 hz ! This is why the audio is off. As soon as I looked in this area I never thought of looking at because I hooked up HDMI cables everything working.
So I forced it to 24hz then restarted Xbox and picked HDMI auto detect and it correctly picked 60 hz that's the default output for Xbox one. And now matches the game port on my vizio that is 60 hz. All other HDMI ports on my vizio are 30 hz. Thisfixed the
audio and makes perfect sense also. My cable box and all output in the us is 60 hz from what I can tell. The Xbox putting my tv at UK standard of 50 hz causes the out of synch. Problem fixed and I noticed a smoother picture and less judder in Forza or Witcher.

No Picture/Sound with DirecTV - Sync Issues?

Is there a resolution for audio issues as well? I have the same DVR box as Manfrenjensen and since 1/6/214 the audio between my DVR video and XB1 audio have been out of synch. It was as if Big Bang Theory was produced in China, the mouth-to-audio was quite
bothersome and I don't know what happened to cause this as it was perfectly fine before? I have unplugged the HDMI pass-through cable from the XB1 and DVR box, plugged them back in and it didn't help at all. Any suggestions?
