Audio thru a speaker

To clarify:

You have a new laptop with built-in speakers

You have a set of external speakers which are plugged into the laptop

The audio won't play through the external speakers and is only being played through the laptop speakers

Correct?

Now, will using that Audio Adapter cut off the audio from the monitor speakers and route the

game audio thru the headset?

And just where does the Audio Adapter plug into the XBox 360 Slim Model?

Thats cool. Going thru a 7.1 system as well. Thats actually probably a better option for Kinect chat users as the speakers are farther from the Kinect. Just make sure to adjust the audio sliders so it doesnt so easily pick up game noise.

I am running thru composite video. I followed the diagram you listed above & it doesn't work. Even when I totally disconnected the cables from the xbox & tv I still have no sound when we turn the xbox back on. I tried checking settings on xbox & changed
to speakers only & then both speakers & headset & still no audio on xbox. It's weird because when you turn the tv on there is audio. Not sure what I am doing wrong. Thansk for your help.
