Audio Static when headset is plugged into controller on PC

The title says it-- I'm receiving heavy static when trying to use my turtle beach headset on my Xbox one controller. My PC does not have the correct port for this headset, but historically I've been able to just plug the headset into my Xbox One controller, and then plug my xbox one controller into my PC using a USB port. Everything worked fine for a few weeks.

A few days ago, I downloaded the most recent drivers for my new motherboard (since I had not done this yet), and now this no longer works. Audio coming through my monitor sounds fine, and when I plug my headset into just the audio port on the PC the sound is clear, but when my headset is plugged into my controller the static resumes. This happens for game/video volume as well as party chat.

Any ideas on how to help? I'm unable to revert to old driver versions, as this was a wiped PC and I hadn't had any previous drivers.

The headset works fine in other devices and when plugged into the front audio port on my pc. The static only occurs when it is plugged into my xbox one controller, and the controller port worked fine until I updated drivers.

Same exact problem! I thought I was the only one. Headset works fine plugged directly into my computer's audio port, its only when plugged into my xbox one controller which is plugged into my Windows 10 PC via USB I get crazy static whenever sound comes through. what should we do??

Note this wasn't happening two days ago before I updated

I never found a solution that let me keep plugging my headset into the controller, unfortunately.

I bought this adapter, however, and while it's annoying to have my headset plugged into the PC instead of controller, it gets the job done.

Have you tried making sure the headset is plugged in correctly and that there's no tears or damage to the mic or headset

I would like help with this same issue as well! when i plug in my headphones to the controller i hear the static of the headset being on but i can’t hear any audio from the xbox at all!
