Audio solutions?

I'll try to keep this concise. After buying my xbox one, I went searching for a new TV. However, I wanted to go with a monitor and was set on the acer s230hl for certain reasons that are irrelevant. The monitor only has DVI and VGA inputs, no HDMI, so
there is not audio with this monitor and I was aware of this when purchasing it. I planned on using my X12 turtle beaches for audio, but I don't want to wait for the official adapter and I'm not modifying the headset itself. I'm hoping that someone here could
tell me if I'd be able to use this converter that I found on Amazon since it has both an hdmi output and the red/white RCA cable output. I already have an hdmi to VGA cable, so the video is working. I just have no sound. If this works, I'd also have the option

HDMI Audio help.

 

Things I want in the next X1 update.

I would like to see 2 things, first the snap screen to have a couple of different screen sizes and 2 the option to mute game audio and just hear the snapped audo, vice versa or ability to adjust the audio volume on both individually

I want to snap the hockey game while playing a game. The small snap screen is not useable, way to small. Then I want the ability to mute my game audio and just hear the snapped hockey audio. Or lower the game audio and have the snapped audio louder
