    I have a Sony STR-DH820 receiver and when I switch the hdmi setting to 7.1 uncompressed I lose my subs. They work with the stereo uncompressed setting. I don't understand why I would lose my subs. They also work fine with the xbox 360 and everything else
    hooked up to my receiver.

    I run my Sony soundbar to the ARC HDMI on my Sony TV and couldn't be more happy with results.

    Hi all,

    I have recently bought an lg sj9 sound bar for my living room. I am currently having issues with getting to work in my system. My method of set up was to run the xbob to the hdmi in port and then run a hdmi from the arc port to the arc port in my tv. when I select the arc function on the sound bar I get no picture or sound. I then select the HDMI in option picture and sound without and issue. as I wanted to run the system through arc this is of course annoying. I disconnected the xbox and and tried some of the smart features like YouTube and I get picture and sound through arc. I then connected the xbox directly to the tv and will get picture through the arc but no sound. The sound bar is up to date and so is the tv the tvs cdmi ports are all set to enhanced and the tv has also been told to recognise an external sound source needless to say I am bit lost. the hdmi cables are also premium
    both lg and Sony customer services are blaming the other device. the tv is a Sony kd497000. is there much point running anything through the arc channel? if not will I loose features such as atoms and surround sound. the bar also has an optical cable option.

    I’m very happy with mine too, however, when I use the sound bar for pass through and select arc I get no sound or picture and have to run it through the hdmi option. If I connect the Xbox to the tv hdmi 2 and then the sound bar to hdmi 3(arc) I get picture
    with no sound despite all settings suggesting that it should work. If I use an in built app on the tv and watch it through arc it works perfectly. All mildly frustrating.

    If you go to your Audio settings are they set up like this...HDMI audio(off)...Optical audio(Bitstream out)...Bitstream format(Dolby Digital)?

    Audio doesn't work on headset.

    Have you checked your audio settings on the console to make sure that it's set up for audio to come through the headset?

    Hi Levi
    Sorry to hear that, I can suggest you two more things:

    1. Do a factory reset for your console but keeping games and apps (or if you don’t mind select remove everything)
    Go to Settings > System > Console info > reset and then select keep my games and apps
    **Make sure to know the email and password for all your accounts

    2. Perform an offline update for your console. In that way Xbox system will be installed from scratch.
    For this you need a USB and PC to format it and transfer files provided in the link below (with detailed steps and requirements ):

    **If you’re using an insider build you need to leave the program and go back to an stable version
    If not the offline update is not going to work
