    Audio questions


    i have an onkyo 7.1 surround sound system and currently have my Xbox set to 7.1 uncompressed. Now while playing Skyrim special edition my back speakers aren't working its pretty much 5.1 even though I have the Xbox set to output at 7.1. I can hit
    my little display on my receiver and it shows input is 7.1 and output is 7.1 but as I said my back speakers do nothing. Now if I do bitstream out my a/v receiver shows input 5.1 and output 7.1 my back speakers work but it's not true 7.1. How can I get my Xbox
    one to do 7.1 on my games. I'm getting frustrated.

    That's not an official adaptor,so may have the xbox reboot if you change inputs on the tv whilst the xbox is on,just google the fix if it bothers you or pm me i will send you a link.the mods have told me off for posting it on here a few times Audio questions :)

    I don't think the sounds are that bad, it could be because I am using true 5.1 headphones, or a true 5.1 surround system, but I have no trouble locating people by sounds.

    What does your "stereo" consist of? Is it truly a stereo (2-channel) or does it have 5.1 or 7.1 channels? If so, is it a receiver with seperate components? A processor, preamp & amp? What types (if any) of inputs does it have? There are so many possibilities,
    I have no way of giving any advice.

    Yep trial and error is normally the way with technology :) Thanks for all your replies as well really helpful. Are the adaptors still being sold online or in retail as I know the adaptors originally were supplied with the Elite but Microsoft being money
    grabbing blighters stopped that.

    Would you know a way of finding that information as the manual has no information other than it is a optical connection and thats it and so far the internet just mentions the same.

    I believe the mix amp is only a small device no bigger than a TV remote, so im not sure if you could do that. I assume your referring to a full size amp like you use with a proper 5.1 setup speakers and all the rest of it.
