    Audio Problems


    Hey everyone,

    Is it possible to have the HDMI cord for video and an optical cable running from my tv to my Xbox One for audio? For some reason, I'm unable to have sound coming through my tv's speakers. Starting to think my TV might need to be serviced or upgraded. Any and
    all help is appreciated!

    Problems with Dashboard audio

    I seem to be having some problems with the audi on my Xbox One's dashboard. If I select an app or play a game there seems to be no issue however any video I watch off the dashboard or even the clicking sound you get when selecting something there is no audio. I see that there is a service announcement up for some Live functions on MS's website but do not really see anything about this particular issue. Any advice?

    Audio Problems

    Does your TV have an optical input? Most have optical outputs to run sound out from the TV to an audio receiver, but I've never seen one with an optical audio input. If it does have an optical input, then yes, you should be able to. Why can't you have
    video and audio over HDMI? Make sure you're set to 2.0 uncompressed if you're using a TV for sound.

    Well I recently found out through a lot of troubleshooting that the HDMI board on my tv needs to be serviced. I'm able to get picture through the HDMI but no audio. Been through customer support for the tv and the xbox. The only thing they could tell me
    is that it needs to be serviced would cost half of what a new tv would cost of the same size.

    All this aside, you may have helped me out. I'm thinking that it must be an optical audio output. I'm trying everything before breaking down and buying a new TV.

    Hey BurnG4501! Are you connecting your console directly through your TV or to a receiver? Are the audio options on the console appearing properly? Give the

    troubleshoot sound     steps a shot and see if they help get that sound back up and running. Let us know!

    No, except for BF4. They still need to fix the audio issues there, but that's a game problem instead of a system one. Does it happen to you randomly no matter what you're doing?
