    Hello, I have a Pioneer VSX-522-K receiver and I'm having some trouble with it. So I can play games and use netflix just fine but when i go into apps such as hulu plus, xbox video, and xbox music, I lose sound completely until I go back to the dash board.
    I've look everywhere but I can't see what the issue is. I bought a $25 HDMI cord so I can not see the being the issue. The receiver is 5.1, Dolby trueHD and I thought when I bought it, I wouldn't have any issues. I just subscribed to xbox music and if
    I can not listen to music on my xbox, I will cancel my membership. This is really frustrating and any help would be appreciated.

    You can get a similar result with Pioneer receivers if you have a TV that supports ARC (Audio Return Channel.) Connect the XBox to your TV. If you set the source on the Pioneer to the TV, then the audio is "moved" from the TV to the Pioneer receiver, although
    it takes a few seconds to resync. I've done this using a Samsung 6900 Series LED TV with a Pioneer VSX 1121-K.

    No Sound when playing AVI files - all of the sudden

    I've had my Xbox 360 for a few years. I've got a nice big projector with a surround sound hookup. I went kind of cheap on the first receiver and it ended up crapping out on me - but when it worked, we enjoyed watching movies with great sound that I converted
    to avi format. I have purchased a new Pioneer VSX-522-k. Sounds great. I have game sound, if I play HBO GO - I have sound. But if I try to play the movies from the usb drive that was able to before - No Sound! No matter what I do.

    Okay - so I start eliminating items to troubleshoot: I take the xbox, harddrive upstairs to my other TV, plug it in, put the movie from the USB on using the xbox video player.... and I have sound?! WT...? So.... it has to be the receiver, right? But
    then why am I getting sound with everything else? Maybe it's the AVI audio codec? Okay - but then why did it play on another TV just fine??

    I don't know but I'm getting frustrated...
