Audio pass-through for DLNA

So, I love that DLNA support was added, but I still cannot get the console to output in DTS audio. I heard that this is because the Xbox cannot pass-through any audio, but it instead does the encoding itself. Is this true?

Please implement proper audio pass through

Unless I have missed anything proper audio pass through (HD audio incl. Atmos) only works when playing Blu-rays.

This is really a half baked solution (I wanted to use another phrase here but I will be nice) and quite frankly unacceptable.

Please implement proper audio pass through that works for everything, especially for media apps like Plex and Kodi.

 

Will Xboxone function as a media center extender?

This is the biggest question I have as well... I have zero interest in an HDMI pass through; why would I run an Oppo or my other consoles through a home theater receiver to go through an XBOX? But this really must be able to connect to WMC, or else it's
a complete pass for me... if it's DLNA only with it, I might as well grab the PS4

 

Indeed, currently the Xbox One doesn't support audio passthrough. All the audio parts are mixed together by the console itself and the resulting stream is sent to your TV or receiver based on the format you specified in the audio settings. If you want to

Moreover, as for now (and it may change quickly), from what has been reported by a lot of users (I haven't checked personnaly), it seems that the media player doesn't support DTS. However, the Xbox team said that the player will be updated regularly to support
