    This is whats happening...

    I am playing Minecraft with my grandkids...

    I have a gold account and they have two gold accounts...

    When we play just two of us, we can communicate with each other fine using the Kinects.

    If one of them, that does not have a gold, joins the game on their console we are unable to communicate using the Kinects...

    Any thoughts?

    So... i guess i forgot to mention that we are using Xbox 360... probably makes a difference eh?

    sharing Xbox live gold membership only works on the Xbox One. unfortunately on Xbox Live, everyone will need a gold membership to be able to talk to each other and play games together.

    What is up with the audio problems. Maybe the Kinect sensor is fighting back and trying to take control over the show.

    Go thru the Kinect setup, again. Kinect may need to recalibrate the audio.
