Audio Output on Xbox One Controller Stopped Working

Has the elite controller stopped working or doesn't just the audio output work? In this case, try

updating the controller firmware before asking a repair.

If youre using the controller that already has the jack built in for the headset try using the adapter, they're great you can adjust game sound and chat volume theyre great id never go without one again.

Thank you for posting here on the Xbox forums. As far as a fix for this, Updating the controller would have worked out if this issue was caused by software. I have heard that in this case, a

stereo headset adapter works out for headsets that are compatible with it.

The other option would of course be replacing the controller entirely.

One "fix" I found it "works" is chaging the out output to mono. It stops the crackling sounds, but the audio quality is compromised.
