    Audio output not working


    hello all,

    Last night my stereo headset cut out. I could still hear the party talking and the game audio but no one could hear me. Thinking it was my headset I bought a new one. It doesn't work either. I tested both headset mics on other devices and discovered they
    still work. It's also not my controller as I've tried the headsets on 3, one of which was brand new. My profile is not muted, I don't have a communication ban and have all open privacy setting. I've tried a reset(the one that kept games and apps) and at this
    point I have no clue what to do to be able to communicate again. Any help would be amazing!

    4K UHD vs 5.1 sound

    Hello

    I would like play in 4K UHD with 5.1 sound on my XboxOneX.

    My TV is Samsung UE55KS7502U.

    My sound system is Samsung HT-J5550W.

    IF i SET Display&sound - Video output - Video fidelity&overscan - Overrides
    TO Auto-detect

    THEN Display&sound - Audio output - HDMI audio -
    5.1 uncompressed     NOT WORKING, just Stereo uncompressed

    BUT Display&sound - Video output - Resolution -
    4K UHD     WORKING

    IF i SET Display&sound - Video output - Video fidelity&overscan - Overrides
    TO HDMI

    THEN Display&sound - Audio output - HDMI audio -
    5.1 uncompressed     WORKING

    BUT Display&sound - Video output - Resolution -
    4K UHD     NOT WORKING, just 1080p

    Xbox 360 Audio Output Not Working!

    Hi iP0RTER,

    Sorry to hear this is happening. But let's see if any of the steps geared towards audio issues over

    here     are able to help out. Let us know if a simplified connection is able to work as well. And if possible, even test the console on a different TV to see any any progress is made. Let us know what happens. Thanks!

    Did anyone ever hear of someone that got the audio to work?

    I can't even find an audio output I could use for this....when using the wired controller it always gave me a new USB audio output device.

    Are you playing on a Xbox console?

    If so, go to the audio settings in the console settings and set up the console audio to output game audio via headset.

    In the headphone settings you can also set up spatial 3D audio, by turning the audio output for headphones to Windows Sonic, or if you have purchased the Atmos App (the free app only works 14 days with headphones), you can also set Dolby Atmos for headphones.

    If you are on the PC, you need to make the headphone your device for audio output (not only voice communications).

    Click on the speaker icon in the lower right, and choose the output channel for the headphone. Depending on your soundcard or USB headset, you need to select the proper audio output.

    My windows default output is set to
    "Headphones (Realtek(R) audio)"

    Also I tried streaming again and now there is no audio at all, However, everything else still works
    Strange...it should be outputting audio to your headset if it is displaying the Windows global setting

    Not sure what else to suggest really as streaming from the console is not something I know much about. It's could be the console companion not working properly (wouldn't be surprising given it's no longer supported)

    Having just had a quick look around the 'net for possible solutions, have you tried changing the audio output in the Xbox settings? I have seen reports where people with no audio changed the audio output from Stereo to Bistream solved it.

    It will work, now with the chat adapter out, my problem is trying to stream audio to my pair. I don"t have a digital output on my tv and no headset jack, however I do have a digital audio output which is supposedly the same as optical output, could you
    clarify that for me?

    Nov 2012 update causing issues with my 360

    The Nov 27 update seems to have killed digital audio output from my 360.

    The boot sound effect when the xbox logo comes up still works in full surround, but all sounds after that no longer work through the fiber optic digital audio output.
